Look at the length of Judomaster's leg she's kicking with.

Compare it to the proportions of everything else on her body.

Well, Communists haven't seen a lot of use in comics lately. I guess it was that of more Nazis.

I'm guessing that's an illusion, and not someone with the power to turn guns into spiders. Shame really.

I don't know if I fail at identifying good writing or not... but I can't stand the writing in those pages.

I bet my dad used to say that kind of thing all the time!

Heh. Okay. I liked that.

Aaron "The Mad Whitaker" Bourque; but seriously, Magog? What the hell?

Man, Cyclone and Star-Girl really shouldn't be on that team.

I tried my damnedest to find it on YouTube, but I can't. So I'll just trust that the other 20-somethings on the board will get this.

Last panel. Magog. "THEY'RE ROBOTS!" Shades of the Foot Clan ninjas on rooftops in my childhood, yes?

I like how Magog discovered they were robots - by stabbing one in the face.

"I'm gonna kill this motherf-- wait, wiring! THEY'RE ROBOTS! Now it's REALLY okay to stab them in the face."

Okay, I get Hourman being on Magog's team (though without Belle?!), and Steel, and possibly Damage. I don't have much of an idea who Judomaster is as a person, so, okay. But the rest of them?! WTF. Why would Wildcat II, Stargirl or Cyclone side against the old JSAers? They're neither that stupid nor that rebellious, and the old guys are practically their parents/grandparents. Why would Power Girl let herself be bossed around by a testosterone-driven idiot? And I can't believe that a so-called genius like King Chimaera would follow Magog, either.

Though I do like Chimaera on this page.

Why is Power Girl taking orders from Magog? Why?

He's giving orders based on drills they haven't run yet. What kind of soldier does that?! Unless the first arc is going to be how Magog is incompetent as a leader of superheros?

And cyborgs are apparently not human enough to count; I'm kind of horrified by that.

Hmm. Another 'Pro-active' team responding to an attack.

Why do writers even bother with that? And I like the concept of being pro-active too.

I don't want to like King Chimera -- small, slender people usually don't do it for me. But he's making it difficult with the pretty hair and going into combat dressed to the nines, not to mention that swirly lava-lamp rainbow paint effect. Standing fifty feet in the air seems weird for someone who only has illusions, unless he's DC's answer to Susan Richards now -- actually on the ground, I guess? He could probably get a day job in Vegas opening for Zatanna...

Also don't want to like Magog -- big, half-naked people usually do it for me. But he's apparently DC's answer to Wolverine with the indiscriminate killing, so that makes it pretty easy.

Politics, feh. Russian communists seem like even more of an anachronism than nazis. So twentieth century.

Is Power Girl supposed to be the Anti-Carol? Like, for every car Ms. Marvel throws in the MU, and Power Girl catches one in the DCU? I ask this because PG was caught a cab, literally, in Power Girl #6 and one here; I'm wondering if it's a theme.
