New "Siege" Teaser

It's surprising how minimal Spidey's role has been in this, really. I mean, y'know, Norman Osborn is in charge of the world and Spidey's more concerned about having sex with the Black Cat. I'm reminded about how Batman was barely in Emperor Joker, but at least there was a good reason for that in the end.

It's a shame, because if this had been happening a couple of years ago, I would have been all over this. But Spidey's current situation has left me emotionally detached from the whole thing and it's hard for me to get any excitement over it.

I am always alittle creeped when everyone but Peter is super pissed about Norman... I mean do they know half the shit Norman has done to him.

I know. HE should be the one getting worked up the most. Out of everyone in the Marvel universe, he's the one with the closest antagonistic relationship with him.

I know there's going to be a "Spider-Man: The List" but really, it's too little too late IMO. Not to mention that the fact that Norman doesn't know who Spidey is cuts the emotional impact that this may have had by 70% percent.

Or didn't Pete already go after him, get captured, escape and nearly kill him before walking off in "American Son"?

I do remember him having "the talk" with Logan in that arc.

Auto, who might or might not be high on caffeine.

Ugh, don't get me started on that piece of crap.

But the arc was more about Harry rejecting Norman in the end than it was about Peter really doing anything of importance besides getting his ass handed to him. It was Harry who almost killed him before walking off, not Spidey. Peter was little more than a bystander during the whole thing.

Norman's been a much bigger presence in the Iron Man and Avengers books than he has been in Spider-Man's during the entire duration of Dark Reign. Really, it seems like Tony Stark's #1 on Norman's hit list as opposed to Peter.

So, someone tell me why it looks like Spidey is about to start wearing the Goblin mask he's holding? It's hardly a victory or pensive pose, to me, it looks more like he's just taken the mask off, or is about to put it on.

The villains are wearing hero costumes. So maybe they're going to put the heroes in villain costumes.

Um, I don't think that's just the mask...

Well it is just a bloody mask, if it were a dismembered head, they would make it more clearer.

As I'm not sure Bendis will be writing THE LIST: SPIDER-MAN or this part of SIEGE with Spider-Man, I wonder what Spider-Man will say about Norman Osborne. It could be like BATMAN #650, where Batman says he wants to kill the Joker so badly he can taste it.

I don't know if things like Clint/Ronin saying "If you'd just killed him when you were in high school..." resonates with Spider-Man. After all, Spider-Man was ready to kill the Green Goblin after Norman killed Gwen Stacy.

The funny/strange part of *that* is Peter was ready to take the Goblin to jail even though (a) no one besides him knew Norman was the Green Goblin and (b) Norman would shout "Peter Parker is Spider-Man" for hours on end.

Norman would shout "Peter Parker is Spider-Man" for hours on end.

I don't think he would, actually. He likes to keep Peter's identity as a "trump card" for himself and maybe a few select others if it benefits him (I.E. Mac Gargan during the Millar's run).

But if Norman exposes Peter to the world, then all the leverage he has over him is gone and he's no more of a threat than any of Peter's other villains. That's why he was so pissed when Peter did reveal himself, because he was "breaking the rules".

I think Spidey at this point is basically "Norman killed Gwen. And I didn't kill him then. I sure as hell won't do it now."

Clearly he's been oiling it up, just for this moment.

I'm a little more concerned with where his right leg is going. The pose he's in, it should be straight down, but somehow it veers off behind him, meaning he's about to fall on his face.

Naughty trick Marvel, making us think Spiderman was holding Green Goblin's severed head there for a second.

That's clearly Norman Osborn wearing Spiderman's outfit having just killed Peter, made him wear the Goblin outfit and beheaded him.
