Red Tornado #1

The story mostly opens and focuses on Reddy and his wife and daughter but given we all know him and his awkwardness as a human already lets go straight to the whole his new family deal.

Ya know I never thought of T.O. as evil just kinda crazy at times but I'll roll with it. And I still don't know what the deal with him and his chair is, maybe we'll find out in issue 3 or later?

And here's the main focus of the story, Reddy trying to track down the beacon he's begun to notice recently.

But...he's not the only one whose noticed the beacon... re-introducing Red Volcano! (Whose previously appeared in DC Universe 0 helping gather the material that helped create Genocide over in Wonder Woman)

One thing that really bugs me is his name. Red Volcano is much more a name evocative of say fire than Earth particularly since he's always molten but I guess Red Tremor or Red Earthquake would sound silly.

Red Volcano begins interrogating T.O on his prior creations, Volcano considers Morrow his daddy since Ivo made him but he wouldn't have been able to do so without Morrow's designs.

We get cut off from hearing but we find out where Red Inferno is next issue.

Of course Reddy has been busy during all this time Morrow's been getting tortured by Volcano.... and discovers...

I'd like to point out to you Reddy that you had a sister you could've contacted...granted she's no longer a fembot but I digress.

I'll continue tomorrow with issue #2 so I can catch up before #3 comes out Wednesday.

...those are freakish huge robo-breasts. It is actually quite frightening.

Hmm, angle I suppose? They don't look that big the next issue.

Seems in character for Morrow to create a robot with massive breasts; especially earlier in his career, when he's a bit less chilled than the T O Morrow we know and love.

I thought the chair thing was that he was bored, If all your allowed to have is a chair what else are you going to do?

Well, I suppose he could've been called Brown or Green Volcano, but really...

To be fair, they need to go with the -o theme.

(As a side comment, somebody really need to repost stuff from the the spoof DC -o team villain team up, the one where T.O. Morrow is scandoulous found to have a W at the end of his name.)

Morrow's been popping up a lot lately, between here, Wonder Woman and Booster Gold.

Ya know I hadn't even realized they all end with O. Huh.

To be fair, between Starro, Despero, Sinestro, Amazo, Titano, Eclipso, Bizarro, Metallo, and a half dozen I haven't mentioned, it's easy to just stop noticing the o's.

Well he is a fun character; a mad scientist who can see the future and copy tech from it.

I once had an idea for a red tornado ongoing where Morrow reformed (mostly) and ended up moving in with Tornado and his family (and designing tornado weapons for Tornado's daughter so she could become his sidekick).

Oh for Rao's sake. Every time they resolve the RT "I'm a robot that wants to be human" thing they reverse it with something.

It takes a very robot-y twist next issue, and the third, at least from the previews, appears to be back to the human angle with a robot boy who thought he was human.

Was his adopted daughter from Young Justice mentioned at all?
