So Lex Luthor can be killed off, but not the Joker? That bothers me.

True, but it's a hazy future thing. As for the Joker, one version of him does get killed in a the not too hazy future.

I don't know. It kind of makes sense to me that the Joker's unpredictability can save his ass so many times.

I think you are right in implying its a future story. that is what GJ does but remember Clark might just be referring to Lex's death in old age

Lex has been "dead" before, so they could easily be referring to the time he was replaced by his "son."

The Super-Sun, Solaris? That'd be awesome.

Dan Didio in his "10 Answers and 1 Question" column at Newsarama mentioned that (Thanks to some replies to an earlier question he'd posed) the Sun-Eater would be returning sometime soon

The Sun Eater (The question was about old characters it would be interesting to re-develop)

The resurrection of Doomsday is kind of redundant. That's his power.

Damn, they're still referencing the Super Sun.

The super-sun I kinda saw coming--what with Morrison probably coming to do a Superman title in the near future, but Earth/New Krypton War? Death of Lex Luthor? Should be very interesting indeed. :D

I like how they're all "Yes, well have to keep things secret from him, things like PLOT HOOKS FOR UPCOMING SERIES DUDES DID YOU NOTICE GO BUY THEM!" It's not like they would bother to think of events that DC has already published like Superman dying or exiling himself to space, or that time Topeka, Kansas got space-nuked.

Indeed - the fact that they can't tell him about his DEATH AND RESURRECTION, which is one of the MOST IMPORTANT SUPERMAN STORIES EVER, would seem to be of more paramount importance than some piddling war. A war is just a big fight (in comics terms, I mean); that's what superheroes do. And the resurrection of Doomsday? Supes is a KID here; telling him about the resurrection of Doomsday would mean about as much to him as the resurrection of Elvis would mean to a '20's Flapper. Don't worry about Doomsday's resurrection - worry about his initial appearance WHERE HE KILLS SUPERMAN!

And then when they let something slip they just go and erase his mind.

Well Doomsday, Zod and Kandor we know and the whole Earth/New Krypton thing we all saw coming, and Lex thing is not going to happen any time soon. So that leaves the Sun-Eater being the actual surprise here for me, that thing is coming back? Awesome.

Also as much as I love the Legion the whole hanging out with people who pretty much know what's going to happen to you and your loved ones and won't tell you is kind of iffy... Then again hanging with someone whose entire life and fate you know about and can't tell him must be pretty strange too.

Not to mention bringing the guy you can't tell about his future to even further into the future where there is an elaborate museum of his whole life.

Looking back on the Superboy and the Legion, it's a wonder anyone was ever worried about Clark, since he HAS to survive into adulthood for the Legion to even be founded in the 1st place.

In the original Superboy & The Legion of Super-Heroes stories, Saturn Girl had placed a post-hypnotic suggestion on Superboy to forget everything about his future that he might discover while in the 30th Century. For example, the fact that Supergirl existed was wiped from his mind every time he journeyed back to Smallville.

I mean, think about it -- Batman complained about one little mindwipe, but Superboy had a constant mindwipe happening to him after every adventure with the Legion! Those bastards!

Maybe that's why Superman seems so susceptible to mind control now. Saturn Girl fucked his mind up real good.
