Oh my sweet and fluffy science that's just ridiculous!

Frank Miller would just ruin all childhoods, everywhere if he had half the chance huh?

I would have done this about Lucy and the football, instead of the baseball. Which is weird since i've always had a slight shipping fondness for CB/Lucy.

"And Linus? You're going with me."

That's beautiful. I don't know who wrote it, but it's beautiful.

... Still better than most recent Miller stuff.

If it was really raining "like nails from a nail gun," wouldn't they have just called the game?

Maybe Charlie was being overdramatic.

You think Charlie Brown cares about a little rain? You must be thinking of a different Charlie Brown.

Is it wrong of me to want all Peanuts comics to be like this? Because if it is, I don't want to be right.

This was pretty messed up. Oh yeah, why was the "Frank Miller Conservative" post removed?

Sally Brown is HAWT. Now I'm curious how Lucy'll turn out. And Peppermint Patty and Marcie.

Aaaaaaaand now I'm thinking of Patty and Marcie as a lesbian dominatrix couple, who are also whores on their spare time, in order to pay for Patty's sex change, but once she gets all the money she gets mugged and raped and then dies in an alley and Marcie swears vengeance and starts looking for answers the 'Rorscharch Way' and...

...I must stop.

According to one artist at least, Lucy didn't turn out half bad. He did pretty much the entire group, actually. His older version of Pigpen is actually pretty hot.

Pity that Shon Howell took down his "Salty Peanuts" stuff. He did a really good version of an older Peppermint Patty and Marcie as a rather cute lesbian couple.

No, we don't. Rainbow Brite is all about colors, and Miller, as we know, hates colors. You'd end up with 'Rainbow Black-and-Wite'.

The thing is, just when was Charlie Brown ever hit by a ball like that? It'd be a lot funnier if it was based on one of his traditional conflicts, like Lucy and the football or the Kite-Eating Tree. (Or, for that matter, having a ball buzz past him at such velocity that it sends most of his clothes flying every whichaway - that happened every now and again, as I recall. That's very Milleresque, or it could - it's basically striptease by baseball.)

Charlie Brown is frequently hit by pitches. They spin him around and knock all his clothes off.

Yes, but are they thrown by Linus? If I remember correctly, they're thrown by the pitcher on the opposite team (who, of course, we never see).

From Baseball-reference.com, where Charlie Brown has an entry:

"He is perhaps best known for his stubborn determination to win a baseball game, and for refusing to give in when all seems lost (he can be seen standing on the pitcher's mound alone during a torrential downpour, refusing to let a little rain ruin his beloved baseball game).

One recurring theme in the strip is Charlie Brown's Little League baseball team. Charlie Brown is the manager of the team and, usually, its pitcher, with the other characters of the strip comprising the rest of the team. Charlie Brown is a terrible pitcher, often giving up tremendous hits which either knock him off the mound or leave him with only his shorts on.

You may not remember it or maybe missed it, but this was a running motif, just like the football-pull and kite-eating tree and Joe Cool and a dozen other things.
