1. Oracle is a fiercely independent hero who does things on her own whenever she can.
2. She is not.
If the second is true, I have no interest in reading a book about the character. If the first is true, then she's been written grossly out of character by not establishing her own "cave" and thus, I have no interest in reading a book with such bad characterization.
So, no, I don't find it an odd reason. I find it odd that I'm the only one who finds it so obvious.
