Perhaps I should just give up.

So, the JLA 80-page Giant.

The plot: The JLA gets scattered through time, and have little two-person adventures.

The framing device: This.

{this is where the teamups go - I'll get to the Wonder Woman/Steel story later, I've actually hit the physical barrier for my ability to be contemptuous of a piece of writing with this and don't have the edge left to tackle it here}

Snapper saves the day, hooray Snapper.

You know, when something doesn't impress me, or just irritates me profoundly, I wax grandiloquent. If I find something loathsome enough, I just get curt and swear a lot.

Yeah, all I can muster for this is a Jesus FUCK.

I've been reading Scans_daily since before the move to insanejournal. I've never felt the need to say a word. Didn't even make an IJ account. Until now.

Who are these new characters, who look much like the old ones, except for the sucking part?

YOU, CHEETAH, LADY WITH THE POWERS OF A HIGHLY DANGEROUS WILD ANIMAL, WHO ALSO HAPPENS TO BE AN EXTREMELY INTELLIGENT ARCHAEOLOGIST, STRATEGIST, ETC, WILL WATCH THE BABIES, WHILE I, SNAPPER CARR, DUDE WITH A 5 O'CLOCK SHADOW, TAKE DOWN THE BAD GUY AND FUCK EVERYTHING UP

IT'LL BE GREAT

This annoys me for the same reason Robinson annoys me. He's a better writer than Cry for Justice or Snidely Whiplash Sam Lane and Rucka was one of the few writers who seem to be able to write WW well. So doing what others did to HIM when he was writing WW i.e. making Diana's villains look lame in some non-WW book(particularly Cheetah, remember when Catwoman took her down? Ugh.)

But maybe someone else will find it cute. I dunno. Snapper Carr? WTF?

am I the only one who likes the Cheetah/Snapper pairing? i think its cute, "There was terror, fighting, and sex." Yep thats a fist date :) lol

I think Cheetah actually liking Snapper is funny and interesting, "Why am i doing this" type moments and "I'll put in a good word for you with the society."

Actually, given how often this sort of thing is shown to be the Cheetah's personality, I think you might have to accept that this IS the norm, and Dr Barbara Minerva, archaeologist is, effectively, the aberration.

It could be an act. I mean, there's obvious tactical and strategic reasons why Cheetah would want access to somebody like Snapper (as a Checkmate agent/former JLA member.) Plus, she didn't reveal the twist until the villain got away.

Think of it as Snapper Carr being a Bond girl.

Well this and Giganta being all BFF with Diana in this week's issue should really help refute the argument that Wonder Woman's rogues are lame.

Also I don't think how infatuated or attracted Snapper is, I would have never asked her to watch the babies.

I dunno I loved this issue and it's stories. I mean the only part of it I didn't like was the Dr. Light, Superman and Samurai story.

And Cheetah/Snapper is one hilarious pairing. Especially since they keep trying to convert one another to heroism/villainy but will never get anywhere with it.

I swear by all that's unholy, no other hero's villains have to put up with this kind of bullshit. Where's the story about Captain Cold hooking up with Lana Lang "because the world was going to end"?
