Doom is suddenly, very hurriedly, rethinking that bit of his Dark Reign fantasy where he chained Loki-in-Sif and Emma Frost to his throne.

Is Loki usually all red eyed like that? Or is the artist basically just showing that he's being really evil at the moment? Either way, Bill better start running.

I am firmly convinced Loki shapeshifted back to front in that last panel, with a little scary-face for 'Boo' factor.

The panel immediately following that last panel:
"By my troth, Jehovah's Witnesses? Here?! Release the hounds in whose gaping maws we have placed bees, so that when the hounds bay in the hunt they shouldst fire bees as like from a cannon!"

Nah, they should just release the Richard (RICHARDS!!!!) Simmons Doombot.

Although I doubt Doom would actually allow ppl with other religions being free to knock on his castle and try to spread their word.
If anything Doom would have assembled Dooms Witnesses to go around. Armed, of course.

Bill (http://asylums.insanejournal.com/scans_daily/tag/char:+bill) is just an awesome, normal dude from Oklahoma. He fell in love with Keldda, one of the Norse Goddesses from Asgard, and decided to follow his heart when they left Oklahoma to go to Latveria. He is also now the smartest person in Asgard because he's the only one who doesn't trust Doctor Freakin' Doom.

Didn't Doom become immortal at the end of Millar's FF run?

I'm reasonable sure the test subjects don't need to be awake for vivisection to work.

Doom is a villain, but his fans keep on claiming that he is honorable and doesn't do unnecessary (by his standards) evil. So, just because he found it necessary to vivisect that guy, why didn't it make it so that the guy was unconscious?

Any drugs strong enough to effect a god would most likely kill it.

Personally, I doubt it. But even if that were the case, surely one of Loki's spells could get an Asgardians unconscious.

Doom is honorable in the sense that he would never lie, not under any circumstances. Some actions would be beneath him.

Apparently, watching an Asgardian heart function through its removal was of interest; presumably anaethesia would have made it beat differently. I don't think of Doom as a torturer (except for psychological torture -- "RICHARDS!"), but this doesn't seem all that far out of character.

Because seeing how the god deals with it is also valuable information?

The weird thing is, I'm fairly certain Doom is an adept enough magician (even ignoring the massive power-up from Millar's FF run) to make himself functionally immortal. All kinds of mid-range mystical villains have done so. Maybe not to the point of living 5 minutes after heart removal, but I doubt the infirmity of old age or disease would be a worry.

Perhaps, but that's not true immortality. Plus Asgardians have a whole bunch of other fun little benifits aside from immortality.

He probably needs to make sure it'd work on a fully-conscious Asgardian, if he's planning on using it on Thor or whatever.
