Exactly what I was thinking. However, the whole point of the Batman Beyond batsuit was its sleekness.

The Kryptonians from the past bought their mechs from Warhammer 40,000?

They just opened a Games Workshop on Krypton, and they weren't about to pass up the chance.

I was weirded out by the difference from the solicited cover. And wasn't Rafael Albuquerque supposed to draw this? Maybe he got too busy with Nomad?
Anyway, interesting to see where they go with it, once the Halloween issue and Blackest Night tie-ins are done.

I was looking forward to this since Albuquerque was listed as the one to draw it. Apparently not. :(

Well, I don't mind Scott Kolins, but I love Rafael Albuquerque, and he's supposed to be the title's regular artist! Next month we get Dustin Nguyen, and then two months of Blackest Night tie-ins written and drawn by Kolins (they're the follow-up to his Solomon Grundy mini, after all), so we'll just have to see who's drawing when they pick this arc back up in January.

Meanwhile, over at Marvel, Albuquerque's drawing Nomad: Girl Without A Country. I'm wondering if the time constraints are what pulled him away from S/B?

See, and here I got all the way down to the bottom of the comments thinking I'd be the first one to point out the GIANT SPACE PHALLUS. Good Lord.

GIANT SPACE PHALLUS was my first thought. Followed by, "Why does Batman need a spacesuit? He can breathe in space."

I was ashamed that it wasn't my second thought. My second thought was to call my brother over, get him to LOOK at the giant space phallus- without saying anything, 'course- and have him laugh for a good minute at it.

When I first read the comic, I turned the page, went O.O , and promptly thought, "Well, that'll be up on scans_daily before too long."
