There was a good bout of giggling; Annie grinned broadly and watched Hailey's face, nodding once to herself. Hailey needed laughter right now, more than she needed to think. She'd probably been thinking for days now, not just on her flight home but while she packed and while she was making that big decision to come home at all.
Now? Now she was home, and the decision making was over. Before she got anywhere else and had big conversations or arguments or whatever else she was dreading, she could loosen up and breathe. Annie knew that staying at her place when Hailey could stay with her brother wasn't going to help. He'd be offended she didn't want to stay with him. Probably. Who knew, maybe he hated company.
"Well yeah, sure. But waitressing kind of sucks." Blunt to a fault, Annie continued. Besides, she had an idea. "You know anything about bartending?"
