All of the air evacuated Bobby's lungs, and he dropped like a sack of potatoes into a groaning lump on the gym floor. His focus was shattered, so the only magnetism in the room was centered around the newly-magnetic Regin.
Adalina stopped in mid-crouch when she saw him go down, but didn't yet loosen the rope. Regin was just as much of a threat as Bobby was (and every other supe in the world), and it took her a moment to debate again: fight or flight? What would she do in their shoes with zero witnesses?
She hurried the rest of the distance to the recovering Bobby and kicked him square in the gut. He fell again as a tangle of machine slid closer and closer, and then there was a knee shoved into his back. Bobby clawed at the jump rope when she drew it tight around his neck, craning his chin back about as far as it could go.
"I told you," she said through teeth gritted with the effort of strangling a man.
A little 3lb weight was loosened from between two machines and launched itself airborne toward Regin. On its way, it clipped Adalina upside her head, aaaaaand she was out like a light.
