Ciara had chosen the place for the simple reason it was relatively cheap and nearby, with good enough food that she wouldn't feel like she was taking the easy way out and buying him absolute crap. The kind of place you waited in line to place your order and waited for them to call your number, rather than a real sit down restaurant where they'd have a server come take their order and bring it out. Not quite a total hole in the wall, but not the most glamorous place either. Which worked well, Ciara figured, because she was moderately sure if she'd taken him anywhere nicer he'd have bolted. But who knew for sure?
It helped that she'd just gotten paid the day before so she had extra money to burn, and wondered if there was a way to impress upon him that it didn't matter what he bought or how expensive it was, just as long as he ate something. There was a smattering of things that cost just over a dollar, some that were far more expensive, with a good chunk hovering somewhere between three to four dollars. Cutting in front of a few people in front of them for several seconds, Ciara snagged a paper menu from the front counter next to the register, then retreated back to where Blue was standing.
Holding it out to him she said, "Here, take a look. Remember, anything you want, for you and McGuire." She had a feeling though, that he'd find the cheapest things on the menu and get those. One of the tacos or burritos that were the least enjoyable to eat because they came with fewer ingredients to amp up the flavor.
