If he took the time to think about it he would realize that he was really strangers with all of them and it didn't have a lot to do with how new he was, anymore. It was because of this. This fact that was now staring one of his teammates in the face that forced him to keep them all at arms length. Added to the fact that, you know, he wasn't exactly sure of himself and where he stood next to other people who had real birth parents. But he had a dad. He was sure about that, he'd had one.
Christian had never been to a restaurant. It was a simple fact. For good reasons his dad never let them leave the trailer park so they never visited towns or saw people or anything... he did all his museum visits on the web. Hell he'd never even had a pizza delivered before. When he was at home though he had eaten well, his dad did a lot of home cooking and they even grew some of their own veggies. One would think he would have taken some time to educate himself on city foods and life since getting here but it wasn't really an option. His friend had suggested they go all the places and do all the things but Christian was the voice of reason in the duo. He hadn't been as eager to enjoy life, he was too busy in the thralls of his self discovery. He regretted that now.
A small wave of guilt washed over him as he and Ciara approached what looked like a nice little place. He definitely couldn't eat here, but he would bring it all back to Utopia. Vending machine food and the occasional dollar menu burger was good enough for him. They walked into the place with little objection from him, he definitely wasn't sticking his nose up to the place. Quite the opposite. His eyes lit up when they got inside as he looked around and was hit with a wall of delicious smells. Vending machine food didn't smell like that and he was ashamed to say he had to swallow cause his mouth started to water. He mentally chided himself and tried to get it all together, going through the process and following her lead but he was trying to keep himself as reserved as possible while still being polite.
