Tristan wasn't going to let anything happen to ruin Eddie's birthday. He ran around in circles in his mind trying to think of something especially meaningful but he kept coming back to one thing. Ikea. It was ridiculous but he went there to think and it had always comforted him, the organization and the feeling of a home without a home. Tristan never opens had a strong desire for a home but in Ikea he got the craving he never knew he had. It was nice to watch the couples and families form their lives.
He wanted to share that feeling of completion with Eddie. To invite her into the inner sanctum of his peace and open up to her completely. Regardless of how ridiculous that was, it was true.
Everything was planned out before hand, albeit it was all planned in the event of a curfew, which there no longer was when the time of the party rolled around. Julian helped to pull strings to clear the lot before closing hours and Tristan pulled some strings of his own to allow he and Eddie to stay overnight.
They were going to spend the entire night of her birthday in an Ikea and he could only hope that she would enjoy it.
Frank had helped plan out the food and a team of the normal cafeteria artisans had stayed to cook them a delicious dinner. Tristan made the cake himself. The four of them had dinner and tried not to talk about the way things seemed to be laying out for all of them.
Once the festivities had ended and things had all gone well he turned to Eddie and took her by the hands, "I know we should be going, but I thought maybe we could just....stay." and he gave her a knowing little smile. "The entire store is at our disposal for the rest of the night. But first let's see the others out."
He had a present as well, but it could wait until later on.
