“Clueless or not, I don’t sell shit,” She said simply, shrugging her shoulders.
Slightly annoyed by the fact that he had brushed off her offer, she looked at him expectantly – but then realized why. The moment that smile appeared on his face, she knew. Suddenly it felt as though he was too close for comfort, even with the table of electronics between them. It was as though his whole persona had changed – like a troublesome kid whose parents had gone out and left him at home to terrorize everything in sight.
She met his gaze evenly, raising an eyebrow as he offered her his hand. Before it even happened, Lizzy knew what he was trying to do. Was he aware that she knew of his powers? By the look on his face and the confidence in his stance, it seemed like he knew exactly what he was doing. He wanted to have an excuse to make contact, and he had an easy way to do so. Lizzy always greeted customers, because she knew how to control her powers. No shock ever left her hand unintentionally.
But now, with him, she wasn’t sure. There was a certain pull to him than made her mentally hesitant, though she showed no outer signs of this. And Lizzy never backed out from a challenge. So, giving him a slight nod, she extended her hand to meet his own.
The spark was instant, something that seemed like he had given off to her without so much as a thought. She would be lying if she said she was surprised, but never the less shook his head. Lizzy simply allowed his shock to travel through her arm and back, returning it to him. To any onlooker, it would’ve seemed as though the two were simply shaking hands. She looked at him expectantly, as though to say ‘happy now?’, before letting go of his hand.
