Who: Kira and Lizzy
What: Kira stumbles upon a very curious fight.
When: Friday Night, May 30th
Where: 54th Street
Warnings: None.
Status: Closed.
A group of Valkyries walked down the street, and though the street lamps had been on for quite a while, they knew the night was still young. Kira cackled with her sisters, one of which who was so drunk that she had been using Kira as support. She was one of the younger girls, though the older Valkyries treated her like one of their own, and it wasn’t until she asked to go home did they agree to do so. Two of them took the younger girl, and Kira agreed to meet up with them later, as it was her night to do patrols around the town. They parted, saying their goodbyes and giving short hollars into the air, a signature sound of the Valkyries.
As Kira made her rounds, she couldn’t help but think that there was a sort of tension in the air - an almost electric feel that made her itching for a fight. Perhaps that’s why she passed over a street here or there, getting her closer and closer to 54th Street. Sure, she didn’t necessarily have to patrol there tonight, but there was always a fight to be found with that nuisance of a gang, and she seldom ever had to start it herself.
As she walked down 54th Street, she wasn’t disappointed. She heard a ruckus going on in one of the alleyways, and moved without hesitation into the shadows. By the amount of voices she heard, there had to be at least 4 or 5 men, sounding as though they were harassing a lone walker. What a shocker.
“What’s the matter, got nothin’ to say?” A male voice teased.
“Maybe her powers make her incapable of talking - hell, wouldn’t be that something!”
“She hangs around with a bunch of other supers down at the flea market, she’s got to know something.”
Kira rolled her eyes at the men. “Always talking way too fucking much,” She muttered under her breath.
“I don’t have time for this,” A female voice sighed, immediately spiking Kira’s interest. Had these assholes ganged up on a poor little girl?
“Oh, no you don’t,” The first guy growled, moving to grab her wrist.
“Don’t. Touch. Me.” The girl said, an eerie calmness to her voice that only made the statement more threatening.
“Hey,” Kira barked, moving from the shadows and making the men jump. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
But before they could respond and before Kira could even blink, the man who had touched her was on the ground, convulsing. The others froze in shock, before recovering a moment later and running out of the alley way and down the road. The girl remained silent as she began walking, moving to pass by Kira.
“Woah there, little lady,” Kira said, stopping in front of her with a raised eyebrow. “Are you alright?”
“Fine,” She muttered, feeling too exhausted to even put on a fake smile. “I have to go.”
Kira, however, did not move out of her way. She looked at the girl with her piercing gaze, making sure she wasn’t hurt. She was wearing torn jeans, though they seemed to be purposely ripped, rather than being caused by a group of assholes. The girl was completely clean, not a scratch on her, though the dark circles under her eyes did suggest an air of exhaustion.
“Alright, listen up,” Kira said, her voice firm. “Either I can take you to the police and we can file a harassment report against those dicks” - Kira couldn’t help but be impressed at the girl’s reaction (or lack thereof, really, as the girl had only raised an eyebrow at the suggestion) - “Or you can let me treat you to some grub at the diner.”
She could see the girl thinking it over, her eyes narrowed in suspicion. After a moment, the girl finally sighed. “Alright, I’m hungry.”
Kira gave her a wicked smile, and they made their way to the diner.

In all honesty, ending up at the diner with a Valkyrie wasn’t the worst situation that Lizzy could’ve found herself in. The woman had, after all, distracted the others long enough for Lizzy to shock the creep who had grabbed her arm. Lizzy made a mental note to avoid the 54th Street area for a while. She didn’t need the entire town knowing she was a super.
The waitress came over with their sodas and cheese fries (when the woman had asked what Lizzy wanted, she shrugged and said whatever the Valkyrie herself was getting). Leaning her elbows on the table, Lizzy picked at the cheese fries. She could feel the woman looking at her, but she acted as though she hadn’t noticed.
“So what’s your name, sugar?” The woman asked, easily, eating her own fries.
“Lizzy.”
“Pleasure, Lizzy. Kira,” She replied smoothly. “What you did back there was pretty impressive, you know.”
Lizzy shrugged.
Kira leaned in closer. “Valkyrie-worthy impressive, actually.”
Lizzy raised an eyebrow. “You want me to join the Valkyries?”
Kira shrugged and leaned back in her chair. “It’s up to you, sugar. Not asking for a yes or no right this instant, as I’m sure we’ll see each other again.”
“You seem awfully certain about that,” She replied, not taking her eyes off the Valkyrie.
Kira merely smiled, and pulled a couple of bills from her pocket and putting them on the table for the waitress to take. The Valkyrie’s eyes sparked with particular knowledge that Lizzy knew she wouldn’t explain. “I’ll see you around, lil’ Lizzy.” She said and stood from the chair, smirking as she walked out of the diner.
Lizzy leaned back in her chair and sighed, wondering what the hell she had gotten herself into.
