In his multiple lines of work there wasn't a lot of time Chase actually had to himself. From pulling his ridiculously annoying roommate out of losing bar fights, working his normal shifts as a cop, and moonlighting as Arkin's right hand man.... well life wasn't exactly a raft down the lazy river. When he did have time off he liked to spend it in wholesome thoughtful ways like catching up on war movie marathons and picking up chicks at a bar where he didn't feel like he needed to arrest everyone.
Regardless of the fact that he worked for Arkin, Chase had a set of morals that did align with his job as a cop. He would bust most anyone he caught doing something wrong in his district, he wasn't the kind that took money under the table to let folks go or anything like that. He was a good cop as long as Arkin didn't need anything from him.
Tonight he managed to get some time to himself and he was in a bar at the Rails, watching a guy take his turn at the pool table and waiting for him to fail. All pool was was math and angles, even Chase knew that. If he hadn't been able to master some quick math and angle studies he never would have been a good sniper overseas so this game was in the bag for him. Barring a freaky ass super or a bad setup, Chase was a pool king. He even had a reputation at this bar.
The other man finally took his turn and they both knew in that moment that he had lost. Chase's crossed arms uncrossed and he gave a patronizing laugh as he set himself up for the winning shot, tapping he ball with the cue ever so gently and watching it glide into place. The moment the winning ball sunk into the pocket Chase pumped his fist down hard with a grunt of victory, sticking out his tongue at the loser and doing something frankly provocative with the pool stick between his legs. Yeah he was great at pool and everyone in the joint knew it. He ignored the guys at the bar with money changing hands over the outcome and the bartender just tsk'd knowingly under his breath. No one should ever bet against Chase.
He helped clean up the area and gave his competitor a handshake along with a quiet "No really man that was good." before he came over to the bar and plopped down on a stool with a million dollar smile on and ordered a beer. It was gonna be a good night off for sure.
