Ollie had been playing a game of cat and cat with Ethan ever since the blackout started. This was in no way a bad thing to him... sure he was more tired than usual but he was making up for it with caffeine pills and batteries. He sucked on batteries like hard candy just to taste the temptation of acid inside when it would suffice simply to touch them in his pockets. Power outages made him feel like he was free, like he was moving through a pool full of water instead of syrup. The world every other day was cluttered with waves. He was always being surrounded and bombarded by energy that his body sucked up without his consent but not now. Now he was actually forced to jump start his metabolism, it was great.
Anyone else might be upset about being slightly less powerful but Ollie made the best of it. He not only made the best of it he took it into his hands to make himself even more energetic and powerful than usual... like some kind of holiday. There was so much energy flowing through his veins that he felt like he was tripping something awfully awesome. He had a little twitch that had started forming ever since mid-Friday and he hadn't slept more than an hour just simply because he didn't need to. Ollie was buzzing hard, and as far as his ears were concerned, literally. Fortunately no one else would hear the electricity prickling across his skin but touching him would hurt like a bitch, worse than normal.
It was during his escapades with Ethan that he'd seen something that really perked his interest. Lightning. Lightning always made him curious because it was like playing with the balance of life and death... he knew he couldn't handle a lightning bolt but that didn't get rid of the excitement at the prospect. He wanted to get hit anyway. He wanted the electricity to rip him apart from the inside and destroy the shell he was stuck in that he called a body. But he also didn't because if that happened he probably wouldn't be able to do as much cool stuff anymore. Only probably.
Ethan was a thing of the past in his mind now. He had simply walked away in the middle of their little game, probably leaving the man confused and a little disappointed but not altogether surprised. It was natural for Ollie's attentions to wane and for him to wander off like some airhead. It wasn't air in his head though, it was static. A constant crackling sound that threatened to drive him further off the cliff of insanity with every passing day. He embraced it. Just as he wanted to embrace this new possibility that was being presented to him.
When he finally caught up with the source of the lightning he was intrigued.. it was a girl. Tiny little thing. Okay she wasn't tinier than him vertically she was probably a couple inches taller than him but she was still a tiny girl, fuck semantics.
He watched her as she carried on. Watched her use her powers, watched her fight, watched her fall. Whatever she did he watched. And then when all was said and done...he followed her. It was only natural.
It was a long time before he was standing across the street from her house with a curious regard but it was interesting for every second of the trip so he didn't mind. His mind was going a mile a minute about what he wanted out of this and what this meant for him. Then it occurred to him. He had no fucking idea. Hehehe. To be honest he might recognize the place as someone high profile that Omicron didn't like but he couldn't care to remember, all he wanted was the girl. It wasn't like he was a criminal anyway, he just ran with them sometimes cause they weren't always boring.
Oliver didn't return to the Faraday home until Saturday night but he also didn't leave for a very long time, a time that will not be disclosed. Night was definitely a good time to make his move because if he could get her to use her powers he wanted the right kind of backdrop. A nighttime setting would let the whole world see him as he lit up like a light bulb and maybe transcended into something else entirely. Like that one cartoon character who was human shaped electricity. Super cool.
Nothing was serious to Ollie, so why should breaking into a house or drawing someone out to use and abuse them be serious either? He looked down to what he held in his hands and then walked right up to the door, rapping on it with his knuckles. When she opened up he would be standing there with a six pack of beer hanging from one hand and a pizza box in the other, the strong smell of fresh pizza wafting from it. There were some perks to his powers, like he could power an oven to bake a pizza even while the power was out. And that was really the only reason he'd gone back home, to make it.
"Hey. Name's Ollie. I brought pizza and beer so let me in?" and he failed as resisting the urge to peek around her, ever so slightly looking all around her at the house behind her instead of right at her. To him this was a no brainer, he didn't expect any resistance whatsoever. He came with an offering of food, it would be rude of her to decline.
