“Do you know what’s up with the food on a stick?” Davina asked as she sat down next to Bonnie after they’d all taken a break for lunch.
She held out a normal looking hershey’s chocolate bar on stick for Bonnie while she kept one for herself. “Any progress on the book?” She asked about a book they’d been working with lately from a completely different world and how it worked with their magic, so far they’d managed some sparkles but not much else.
Bonnie just shook her head in answer to both questions. It was frustrating work with the book. There was so much both of them could do with their magic, but working with this stuff, they were getting nowhere.
Davina frowned at Bonnie’s nonverbal answer, that wasn’t good. “Maybe we should get one of the language people on it, see if we’re missing something.” She really wasn’t sure about that suggestion but it seemed like they were stuck.
“A translator might help,” Bonnie agreed, nodding her head. “Roman has some experience with the supernatural, at least. We might ask him to look at it.” She and Davina were both gifted witches, but a fresh perspective could help, especially if it came from someone who’d been alive for centuries.
“It can’t hurt, he’s been around long enough that he might have a fresh look.” Davina was nervous about trusting people still but she had gotten better since being here. “Well, let’s go get him.”
“That’s what I was thinking.” Nodding, she got up from her chair. “We can check the linguist office and see if he’s there now.”
“Let’s go!” Davina said getting up after him. “It’d be good to get somewhere on these.”
