Ever since Donald Pierce had shown up, Laura had been spending a lot of time in the Danger Room. Since she wasn’t able to go on missions, she was glad that they’d at least had one of these installed so that she could train in her own way. Her way was a little less orthodox than most everyone else’s training schedules, and being in the Danger Room meant she didn’t have to worry about hurting anyone except for the equipment or holograms that came at her. She didn’t feel like she had to hold back. People often underestimated her abilities, and she didn’t have to worry about that when she was in the room by herself. Between going to school, helping out at the zoo, and spending some time at the base in the Danger Room, Laura stayed occupied most of the time which was probably a good thing for everyone. No one needed or wanted idle hands that had metal claws coming out of them. Especially not when the girl with the hands was feeling a lot more on edge lately than normal. Even if he hadn’t done anything to her since being here, Laura didn’t trust him and still wanted to rip him to literal shreds for what he’d done to her and her friends. The first simulation was done, and so Laura went over to study some of the screens to see what she could set up next. She didn’t completely understand everything that was available to her, but she understood enough to set up some good obstacles. The chair was too high, and her legs swung above the floor as she sat scrolling through the different scenarios. When a giant sentinel popped up, she narrowed her eyes briefly but clicked the select button to add to the next simulation. If couldn’t hurt her, and she enjoyed seeing how tough she could make them. It was exciting, but it also help her release some pent up energy that she couldn’t expel otherwise. |
