Living life as a five year old for a day was an experience that Elle would have preferred to forget as soon as possible. She got up, went to a Muggle version of day school, and spent the afternoon eating sweets and playing in the park. She had a vague feeling that something wasn’t quite right about it all, but it wasn’t until she woke up the next morning that she wanted to stay in bed and forget it ever happened. As far as her first true Atlantis experience, she supposed that it wasn’t that bad, but not one she wanted to ever repeat. Thankfully, she had the day off from work, and she wasn’t likely going to call in to make up for the previous day. It would just be something that she’d work out with her employer the following day. Today, though, she spent most of the morning in her room taking her time getting up and going. Avoiding her roommates was also part of the plan, so when she believed the living area to be empty, Elle grabbed her bag and jacket and headed out for a walk. She was still getting used to being here, and some parts had been easier than others. She still felt that familiar, hot anger whenever she thought about Alicia. Even though they’d mostly avoid one another since their initial meeting, Elle occasionally did try to think up ways to get back at her sister. In a place like this, it was going to be a lot harder than if they’d still been at home. But if they were still at home, Elle would have been dead. Deciding to find something a little familiar, she ended up at the Three Broomsticks. Stepping inside was like stepping back into Hogsmeade back home rather than being worlds away. She ordered herself a firewhiskey and sat down at a table near the back but in a place where she could still keep an eye on others who came in. She wouldn’t have wanted to be taken by surprise if certain family members decided to pay the pub a visit. |
