It was really stupid to be nervous, but Davina was a little nervous about what she was planning on asking Marcel, of course, he was the one she was going to ask, of course, that was normal, but it was still something she was a little bit nervous about. She’d suggested they do something just them and they’d ended up at his place. His roommate was out somewhere, so it was good timing. After normal catching up and things, Davina couldn’t really wait any longer.
“So, I’ve got to ask you something,” she started waiting for him to indicate he was ready to hear it. “Kol asked me to marry him. I said yes.” That probably wasn’t a big surprise. Davina didn’t really pause to let him get a word in before she was speaking again. “Will you walk me down the aisle?”
Marcel was always happy to do things with Davina. Which is why he’d immediately agreed. He knew back home he hadn’t been able to spend as much time with the young witch as he had wanted. And, especially not now, since they had both left New Orleans, and the Mikaelson siblings they were both with, could not be near one another. However, this was something he was both expecting, and not expecting. He knew that Kol loved her. He could see that in the way he would do anything for her. A side of the Original that Marcel had never seen. But, Marcel still found it very hard to get over the way Kol had treated him as a child. And, more importantly, the fact that he had killed Davina. Even though, he knew that the Ancestors had made him do it. He still blamed him in some way.
Still, Kol was no longer the most hated of the Mikaelson siblings in his eyes. No, that honour had been given to Elijah years before. And, well, even Marcel could see that loving Davina had changed something in the vampire. Who for a long time had been called a psychotic maniac. Even by his own siblings. Still, he examined her face. To see that this really was what she truly wanted. Before nodding.
“Of course I will.” He laughed, as a big grin spread across his face. Before scooping her up into his arms to hug her in congratulations.
“Tha-” was all Davina managed to get out as his arms wrapped around her, laughing her arms came around him, and she hugged him tightly.
“I’d say I’d have to hex you if you’d said no,” she teased. Davina was capable of something like that but she wouldn’t actually do it. “It’s going to be a small wedding, neither one of us wants something big and insane.” She smiled. “And no threatening the groom!” She added narrowing her eyes.
“Wow! A Mikaelson not wanting to make a big event out of something. That’s a first.” Marcel grinned, as he put her back down. “I promise, no threatening the groom. Unless he does something which deserves threatening.” He would never like Kol. But, he’d always let Davina make her own choices without interfering. Or at least he tried to. And, he had been trying to make the effort with Kol. For Davina’s sake. And, he supposed Rebekah’s as well.
“Have you set a date?”
"And who is going to be the judge of whether what he does is worth threatening or not?" She asked narrowing her eyes challenging him.
"Nope, no date set yet, I think we're going to just enjoy being engaged, it's not really something that either of us thought was completely possible, okay, so he did from home, but I didn't know that yet, and with all the times he's come and gone here..."
“You can make a list of things I’m allowed to threaten him about if you want?” Marcel acceded. “Things like he killed someone. Or hurt you.” He took her hands. “I just couldn’t handle losing you, again. Okay?”
“I get it. Neither of them have stuck around here too long, have they?” He’d lost count of the amount of times Rebekah and Kol had come and gone at this point. And, it never got easier when they left.
“I’m not planning on going anywhere,” Davina insisted. “And I’ll make sure I get you that list.” She was sort of teasing, but she appreciated the thought. It’d be good if Marcel and Kol could be on better terms.
“It’s like Atlantis can’t make up its mind if it really wants them here or not. We’ve all done horrible things. It’s not like Kol and Rebekah are unique in that matter.”
Marcel had been trying to make an effort. But, the experiences he had with Kol as a young boy, did colour his opinion on the Original quite a bit.
“We should celebrate.” He said decisively. “Come on, I’ll take you both to dinner.” He supposed if Kol was going to be family, in yet another way. He should probably make the effort.
“This should be fun,” Davina said warily, but she grinned all the same.
