That seemed like a stupid way to ensure the safety of what you were protecting, all the randomness. Clarice frowned, brow furrowing as she parsed the theory. She didn't like it.
Clarice did, however, understand things not being all sunshine and rainbows, and needing a break. She couldn't blame anyone for not being that mad to have ended up here, and much less so when years had passed. "Hey, don't knock it, our Mutant Underground is nothing without a coffee machine and the supply runs."
Emily didn't need to tell her twice. For the first time in a long time Clarice was actually having fun, and not having a conversation with danger looming overhead. Grinning wide, Clarice nodded. "Let's go!"
She ran out there, one hand loosely on Emily's shoulder as if to guide her.
