Casey didn’t get much out of Cappie on the girl he’d dated in Atlantis but after doing some snooping she managed to find out it was someone named Emilia Spinnet and that same girl had a daughter that was somehow grown up with Cappie. The worst part? Everything Casey saw about Emilia she knew she’d like her.
She was thinking about that while getting a coffee and a muffin from Snoozle, saying thank you to the employee who handed it to her she turned knocking straight into the same person she was totally here trying to see but not talk to.
“Oh my god!” Casey let out as she managed to stop the coffee from dropping the muffin fell to the floor crashing as crumbs fell everywhere. “I am so sorry. I am such a klutz! I can’t believe, I mean I was here, and I wanted to, but nevermind.” She said looking at Emilia who was annoyingly stunning. “I’m so sorry.” She said again with an embarrassed smile.
Emilia was started for a moment by the unexpected collision, but she quickly shook her head a smiled at the blonde. “It’s alright,” she said, quickly summoning and bewitching a broom from the corner to clean up the mess as she headed for the counter. “Let me get you another muffin.” She didn’t plan to give her time to object as she moved to retrieve another of the same kind the other woman had been carrying.
“No, that-” Casey had started, but it looked like Cappie’s ex wasn't going to listen to her saying no. She smiled softly taking the second muffin. “I am so sorry again. I can be such a klutz sometimes.” Casey insisted as she tried to decide if she should introduce herself or not. “I’m Casey,” she decided to introduce herself.
Emilia’s eyes went a little wide as the other woman said her name. She’d known Casey was here, of course, since Cappie had told her, but she hadn’t really thought about what she would do if they came face to face. The truth was, though, that she hadn’t been lying when she told Cappie she was happy for him. She knew he loved Casey and she knew he’d be happy to have her here.
“Oh, sorry, hi, I’m Emilia,” she said after realizing she was kind of staring and not saying anything. “I’ve heard a lot about you, Casey. It’s so nice to finally meet you.” She meant that, too. However much it hurt that Cappie had ended things, with Casey here now, maybe it was for the best. She didn’t begrudge either of them the ability to be together.
Casey smiled wondering exactly what Emilia had heard about her, after hearing Cappie's last memory from coming here it probably wasn't really good. "It's nice to meet you too, and I'm sorry if me being here is making things even weirder for you because I would find it really weird and I'd probably think a lot of bad things towards ... well, I guess myself." She smiled awkwardly. "This is a little weird, isn't it?"
“A little,” Emilia admitted, but she shook her head. “There’s nothing to be sorry about. I’m really glad you’re here for Cappie. He’s really missed you.” Sure, maybe he and Casey hadn’t been in the best place, but it had been pretty obvious that he loved her. Missing loved ones from home was a part of what had drawn them together to start with. “I don’t think anything and toward you, Casey. I’m happy he has you here now, really.”
"Yeah, but from my understanding, I might not be staying you know? With the whole hey some weird magical portal through different worlds brought you here because of bad guys and sound!" Casey shrugged. "Sorry, this is so not your problem." Casey felt stupid about the words that had just come out of her mouth.
“Isn’t that just more reason to make the most of whatever time you do have?” Emilia countered. “I don’t know what Cappie told you, but we haven’t been together for almost a month. You’re not screwing anything up for me by being here.”
Casey nodded with an awkward smile, this was beyond weird, and she thought the Rebecca and Casey thing was weird. “I guess, and well, I’ll get out of your hair, I’m sure you don’t need me hanging around here in the way.”
She wasn’t really in the way, but Emilia recognize that she probably wanted an escape from the awkwardness of meeting her boyfriend’s ex, so she just nodded. “It was really nice to meet you,” she said, offering her one more warm smile.
