How did she know that would be Lucifer's response? Right, because it would be almost any kid's response to getting told they had to go to school! "If you don't want to go, you'd better grow up," literally, Chloe thought, because there was no other option as far as she was concerned. Besides, it would do for an acting police officer to break the law so blatantly, even if the situation was somewhat out of the ordinary.
"Until you're in your 40s again, I so am," Chloe told him with a roll of her eyes, "unless you see anyone else here trying to clothe and feed you? No? Then deal with me being your surrogate mother for the time being." Not that she actually wanted another kid to look after either, but she wasn't about to abandon him, he was her partner after all.
"Trixie, remind me that you're a really easy kid to deal with when all of this is sorted out, huh?" she told her daughter with a small sigh, pulling on her coat and resting her head on one side, "happy now?" Like she'd go out in this weather with only a sweater on!
"And your gloves!" Trixie chimed in with a broad grin towards Lucifer, thinking that this morning just couldn't possibly get better! Not only did they get to play in the snow but she had her friend in kid-form and he wasn't too scared to answer back to Mommy. If she'd said half the things he had this morning she'd have been grounded till she was 21, so instead she took Lucifer's hand and pulled him out the door, determined to enjoy every second of the day. "Come on, let's make snowballs and get Mommy," she whispered in his ear as she headed towards the elevator.
