ADRIAN IVASHKOV ✦ JEZ REDFERN
New Friends Low Complete |
Jez took the day to explore Atlantis a little bit more, it was something she liked doing, figure out different ways to move around the city, hidden passages she could find, fastest ways to get between different places. It gave her something to do and she also felt like it could come in handy someday should someone actually attack the city itself. Today however every single freaking place she went was this annoyingly somewhat artsy looking pretty boy, okay, Jez had no idea if he was annoying or not but she was getting sick of him being almost everywhere that she was, it was creeping her out too, was he following her? Was this some kind of test that she didn’t know about? Perching on top of a shorter building, the roof of the bakery she watched as he entered, waiting for him to come out, she paused for a few second before jumping and landing directly in front of him on her feat. “Have you been following me?” She asked crossing her arms with a set expression on her face. Today had been just one of those aimless sort of days where Adrian did a lot of wandering around. He couldn’t really explain a reason for the wandering, but he chalked it up to boredom. It was just that walking around while bored instead of being lazy in his apartment and vegging out to some television soap opera was a new look for him. There was a first time for everything, right? As he was out, though, he got a text from the boss lady telling him that the schedules were in for the next week at the shop. It was a good time to stop by the bakery and get his new hours plus grab a couple pastries to go. Work was another concept that was new to Adrian Ivashkov, but he didn’t mind working there or for Emilia Spinnet. She was a lot of fun, and there was also the perk of sneaking a few snacks every now and then. Adrian had his little baggie of goodies that she’d left him with for the afternoon, and he walked back out into the cold only to be surprised by a redhead jumping down from the roof and nearly scaring the shit out of him. “Do you know how much of a travesty it would have been if I’d dropped these?” He said, probably a bit too dramatically. He made a small show of securing the bag again. “And, huh? Following you? Why would I be following you? I work here. Well, sometimes. Not today.” Crossing her arms she frowned as she looked at the bag of food in his hands. “I’m sure you’d live,” she answered rolling her eyes at him, clearly he wasn’t very aware of his surroundings but Jez wasn’t about the point that out to him, that was his problem, not hers. “I don’t know why, that’s why I’m asking, everywhere I’ve been today you’ve been there,” she snapped out. “So, clearly it has nothing to do with the place you sometimes work at but not today.” “Woah easy there, firecracker,” Adrian said, holding up one hand and sort of the other as he kept the bag of delicious pastries secure under his arm. “I’m not following you. Anywhere you’ve seen me today had just been a coincidence. Scouts honor.” He hadn’t been subconsciously following her, right? Not that he knew of or could remember. He’d just been wandering around town and had ended up here, and being here came with an actual purpose. Getting his schedule and sustenance. “Tell you what. How about a peace offering? I’ll share my goodie bag with you if you don’t go all She-Ra on me.” "I don't believe in coincidences, and the name is Jez, not firecracker." She narrowed her eyes looking him over carefully. He didn't look human to her, there was something else to him, but he didn't look like he could beat anyone up either. Looking at the bag she tilted her head, he didn't seem too threatening but she still didn't believe it was just by chance. "What's your name?" “Alright then, Jez. What about serendipity? We run into each other, and you get a tasty snack for your troubles.” Adrian had to admit that the name Jez was pretty badass and one that he didn’t think he had ever heard before.. It wasn’t quite as badass as the name Jet Steele, but then again, no other name would ever compare. “I’m Adrian. I’ve been here maybe… I dunno, a few months, I guess. And like I said, I work here a few days a week, so you can make sure to keep an eye on me,” he said with a wink. “I don’t believe in serendipity,” which she actually knew was stupid seeing as she had the whole soulmated thing which was kinda like that, but not the point. “Well, Adrian, I’ll keep that in mind. So, this treat?” She asked making a mental note to keep an eye on him. “Oh, so you’ve decided you want this now?” He asked, teasing her a little as he shook the baggie a bit. “Come on, I’ll splurge and let you pick out whatever you want inside.” Splurge as in try to convince Em to let him have just another piece or two free of charge. He held the door open for her as they walked back inside. “And while we’re getting to know one another maybe you can tell me about the few things that you do believe in.” |
