Bonnie Bennett ✦ Hilary Becker
Disneyfied @ Mardi Gras PG - Just some kissing Complete |
Bonnie had really found herself wanting to spend time with Becker over the last few days. She didn’t even want to know what Caroline would have to say about it, but it was impossible to keep those growing feelings to herself, particularly when Becker seemed to find excuses to talk to her, too. Or maybe it was coincidental that they kept running into each other on base. Either way, she couldn’t help hoping he’d be at the party tonight and she thought of him as she got ready for the party. Although she’d dressed in neutral colors for the party, her shorts became green and the top purple as she stepped into the Mardi Gras party. Shrugging, she helped herself to a drink as she looked around for Becker. She was on her third VOO-PEAR-DOO COCKTAIL when she spotted him through the crowd. Grinning to herself, she made her way across the party toward him, feeling strong and confident as she greeted him with a brilliant smile. “Hey, you.” Something was up, between weird dreams and considering dying his hair blonde, thankfully [TBD] talked him out of that one when he casually brought it up the day before. It wasn’t that Becker didn’t like Bonnie Bennett, it was just strange how much he felt the need to be around her and act all gallant and stuff. When he saw her make her way towards him he tried to play it cool but there was a smile creeping up his lips. “You look great,” he told her to her greeting. Bonnie’s smile grew at the compliment. “You don’t look so bad, yourself,” she said tilting her head a little. “Mardi Gras looks good on you, Becker.” It was strange how suddenly she felt so attracted to him. Not that Becker wasn’t really attractive or anything, but it felt like her feelings had grown so quickly. Somehow, she didn’t mind it. The change itself almost felt exhilarating, like something new and exiting. Who wanted to be tied down to the same old thing day after day? Change was what made life fun. “Guess I should wear more colors,” he responded nodding his head feeling not completely himself. Becker really only ever wore black, sometimes a flannel shirt was slipped into his wardrobe, but he mostly wore black. “Would you care to dance?” He asked. Bonnie didn’t hesitate in her answer. “Yes, I would love to.” She held out her hand to him, letting him lead her toward the dance floor. It felt somehow right to stand close to him and move together with the music. The feelings that overwhelmed her weren’t any she would have associated with Becker before, but they felt natural now. Dancing wasn’t really something he typically did but in this case it seemed like a good thing to do and the right thing to do so he went for it. He surprised himself that he didn’t step on her toes. “So, how has your day been?” Great question he thought to himself sarcastically. “It’s been good, but I think it just got better,” Bonnie said. She couldn’t seem to stop smiling up at him, looking at him like he was the only other person in the world, which was weird, because that was normally so not her, but she wasn’t thinking about that now. She was just thinking about how nice it was to dance with him. “Good,” he responded with a grin. “That’s really good.” Becker didn’t really know what else to say so he just went with dancing, dancing was oddly easy with her, a lot easier than he would have expected. As the song came to an end he started to slow down standing there just looking at her. Becker was a good dancer or at least it seemed that way to Bonnie. It felt so natural with him and she looked up, smitten, at the song’s conclusion, just gazing into his eyes for a moment. She found herself moving closer and the next thing she knew, she was leaning up to kiss him, something she’d been thinking of doing for days now. Becker normally wasn’t the sort to kiss someone in public but he didn’t really notice any of the people around them as he leaned down to kiss her, it felt like slow motion but he was okay with that. He had no idea how long they were kissing until he heard the song end, or a song end, he pulled back with a small smile but with a loss of words. It had been one hell of a kiss and Bonnie couldn’t help smiling at him as they pulled apart. “You know,” she said, gazing up at him, “I think this might be the best party Atlantis has ever had.” Laughing he looked up before looking back down. “It’s sure shaping up to be the best, and the most memorable.” He offered as he pulled her in for another kiss before resuming dancing. |
