Peter Quill ✦ Daisy Johnson
Peter arrives in Atlantis PG - Super Tame Complete & Closed Log |
So this was Atlantis? Peter shook his head and looked around the room after the hologram shut off. Wasn't Atlantis supposed to be under water? Or made of gold or something like that? He also wasn't that interested in helping a bunch of people he didn't know fight a war that he didn't care about. Although the idea of losing music did kind of suck and being creative wasn't a bad thing. Okay, so maybe he did care a little bit. Standing up, he stretched and then after a quick visit to the little boy's room, he headed out. The building he was in seemed pretty large, he thought as he waited for the elevator so there must be a good number of people here. What were the chances that someone he knew might be around. Probably not all that good because if any of them were here, they would most likely have tried to contact him. That's what he would have done and wait a minute, he had something to contact people with. The elevator stopped and Peter walked over and scrolled through some of the information. Nope, he didn't recognize anyone but whatever. He'd do just fine on his own. When he stepped outside he was surprised to see how big the place was and how many people were around. At least he hadn't ended up on some freaky ass version of his father's planet. He still couldn't quite comprehend that his biological father was a Celestial which translated to he was a planet. Freaky shit. If he could handle that bit of information though, he was pretty sure he could handle this place. "Okay Atlantis, show me what ya got," he muttered as he started down the street, taking in the businesses and the people as he passed. At least no one seemed to be looking for him or wanting to arrest him which was always a plus in Peter's opinion. Head down as she studied a report on her tablet, Daisy wasn’t paying enough attention to where she was walking as she moved through the streets of Atlantis. She knew better, so she shouldn’t have been surprised when she bumped into something solid. As the tablet flew out of her grip, instinct has her reaching out and using her abilities to hold it up, keeping it from falling to the ground. “Sorry about that,” she greeted the guy she’d bumped into sheepishly as she retrieved the tablet from mid-air. “I guess I should probably watch where I’m going, huh?” He noticed what she’d done and looked at her in surprise. “Yeah, no problem. No damage done,” he said and then he took a closer look. Well thank you, Atlantis, he thought, the first person that he met was a pretty woman who apparently was telekinetic. “I should apologize myself. I just got here so I’m kind of wandering around, seeing what I can see.” “Yeah?” Daisy tilted her head at the new guy as she slipped the tablet back into her bag. “In that case, welcome to Atlantis, newbie,” she said, offering her hand to him. “I’m Daisy..” She waited expectantly for him to return the introduction. “Peter,” he said. “Peter Quill. Just got here. Didn’t expect Atlantis to be above ground if you wanna know the truth.” He’d heard the stories about the lost city but this city looked anything but lost. It looked huge. Daisy laughed and shook her head as she shook his hand firmly. “Whatever you think Atlantis is, you might want to forget all that and just expect the unexpected. I don’t think it’s like any of us ever expected unless you expected it to be really, really weird.” “I’ve just come from one of the weirdest experiences in my life,” he said, shaking his head. “So I think I can handle it. Or at least I hope I can. Have you been here a while?” From what he’d learned, people had started being brought here a year ago and he wondered if Daisy was one of the original arrivals or if she had come later. Daisy nodded. “Over a year now,” she admitted. She’d been on of the first arrivals, so life in Atlantis was old and familiar to her by now. She’d gotten used to most of the weirdness that happened a lot here. “Get used to that whole weirdest experience of your life thing, ‘cause you’re gonna have a lot more of those here.” “Well I don’t like being bored so it’s good to know that won’t be a problem here,’ he laughed. If things got boring, Peter would find a way to liven things up and sometimes that got him into trouble but he he would do his best to behave. At least for now. “What do you do here?” he asked. “I know I’m asking a lot of questions but I need to get to know my tour guide, after all.” Rolling her eyes, Daisy lead him toward where most of the good bars and restaurants were. “I’m a lead tech,” she answered as the walked, pausing to point out a couple of things. “There’s a pretty cool pier down that way. The beaches are pretty nice, but I wouldn’t suggest a swim this time of year.” “Not a fan of freezing my ass off,” Peter said. “I’ll wait until it gets warmer. For now I’ll stick to seeing what the town has to offer. Besides having you as my personal tour guide that is.” He gave her his most charming grin (or what he thought was his most charming grin) and glanced at a bar not far ahead. “What about that one. Doesn’t look like the type of place where you’d get beaten up.” Laughing, Daisy nodded. “Probably not, but you never know,” she teased as she started to lead him toward the door. “Come on, you can buy me a drink in exchange for my tour guide services.” |
