jez redfern ✦ Iliana Dominick
Here is atlantis Low complete |
The Witch Child practically barrelled across the distance between towers, thrilled to have someone here from home. And another Wild Power at that. She didn’t know Jez as well as she’d like, her and Morgead were a little scary sometimes, like Rashel and Quinn but less glarey. But having her here meant that Iliana could get to know her better. She was sorry Jez was without her soulmate but maybe that would change. Maybe the lamia would arrive in his own time. She really hoped so. But now wasn’t the time to bring that up. Jez was here and Iliana was going to help her get used to the city and the strangeness that so often came with it. “Jez!” she called, spotting the redhead outside her tower. She was hard to miss after all. There was a lot about Atlantis that she still didn't trust, it hadn't been that long, so that wasn't all that surprising. Jez found talking on the network interesting, and it looked as though Iliana had figured out life here already with a boyfriend to boot. She was watching two blonds that moved like they were a lot more than just humans laugh and joke around about someone named Damon and a prank they were contemplating. Smirking she was curious what they were talking about, but her attention turned to her fellow wild power. "So, here for the penny tour?" She joked a smile crossing her lips to show she wasn't completely serious. Iliana replied with a wide grin, she laughed easily and enjoyed getting to play tour guide at the best of times. She’d happily show Jez the city. “What do you think of the place so far? The internet is INSANE. I mean, I kind of miss the noise it used to make getting on it, I hated it before but it’s weirdly nostalgic or whatever now. Anyway, where did you want to start? Are you gonna go to school here too? Once it gets out this year I’m gonna look at what I might wanna major in. I have a few ideas but we can talk about that later.” Iliana wrapped an arm in Jez’s without much hesitation. She may not have known her well but she knew her, and that was enough. “Coffee maybe?” Jez opened her mouth to answer the first question but stopped as more were added. Iliana was a chatty one, Jez reminded herself with an amused smirk. “Anywhere is good to start, something about maybe testing out of school but have to start with it at first.” She grumbled. Why the heck did she have to go to school? “College?” She asked knowing the answer but she thought it was weird given the war. “Sure, but do you need coffee?” “Is that a ‘Iliana you don’t need coffee because you’re already ridiculous’ do you need coffee? Because Mason has the same reaction. So did Winnie. Keller had zero leg to stand on when coffee was involved.” she said, glancing to the two blondes across the street noticing Jez had been looking their way. “It’ll be hilarious and Damon probably deserves it” she explained as one of the blondes actually did a little dance right there on the street.” She figured Jez would be less into school and college than she was. “I get good grades. And back home it wasn’t really an option for me to go, I get to do that here and if they need me in a fight I can do that too. I’ve used the blue fire once or twice, when it got bad, when they needed it. I was never the fighter out of us.” “The former,” she answered, Jez always thought Iliana had enough energy for three people. Her attention drifted to the blondes. “Whose Damon?” She asked Iliana nodding for her to lead the way to where ever it was they were getting coffee. “Guess just surprising it’s an option here too with the war and the way they brought us all here.” “He’s actually okay. But one of those people that deserves to be pranked now and again.” she explained. Jez was surprised about the option of letting them fight here and Iliana knew it was kind of weird but it was their job, do what they can to save the world. And being here was a way to save save all the worlds. “It really is important that we’re here. Half of us anyway. “We can do a lot of good. And I want to do that.” "Right," she said throwing a glance back at the blonds. "Are there a lot of people like that around here?" Jez didn't like feeling like there were a lot of kinds of people here that she didn't know about. All of her attention turned back to the conversation at hand. "So, have you experimented with the fire since being here, you said you've been here a while..." Jez let the words drag on a little as she watched a few of the other people walking. “Yeah. There’s so many things I’d never even thought were possible. Aliens, Jedi. And vampires, made ones I think. There’s one girl from Mason’s world, who I think is like a Lamia but with magic.” She shrugged. Not sure how any of it worked but they seemed like good people. “Not experimenting with it. I used it once when things got really bad. Cut my hand and just...it came to me. It was more me this time than Hecate but she was there too, y’know?” "Like, Let The Force Be With You people?" Jez asked not fully believing it, the vampire thing she could believe, the alien thing sounded weird, but she let that one go. "With Magic huh?" She didn't show that she wanted to know a lot more. "What kind?" Nodding, she got it, she did. "Well, we should probably figure it out more with both of us here." She offered looking at a woman playing with her dog. "You know, it's hard to believe there is actually a war going on, I get life goes on, just not what I expected when I heard the whole thing." “Yup. You spent time in the day world, right? Did you get to watch all of them? Apparently they made some new ones.” she said. As for the rest, the magic using Lamia type girl, all of it was a lot to get used to but she had come to like it here. She knew they’d have to go back. They needed to save their world. But they could do good here too. “Do you think we can combine it? I mean the power. I know the whole four less one thing but we could try? We have to be better together than apart? Right?” "Yeah, I did, but I didn't watch all of them, heard about them more than watched them," she remembered asking about it once and getting weird looks one of the few times she actually went to school. "Maybe the rules are different here if we really are in a different whatever it was, we might be? But using it not together but at the same time might be worth trying." “It must be so hard doing the school stuff while being part of Daybreak. I had no idea until Keller and the others found me and even then it took me a while to accept it. I denied it, I didn’t want anything to change. But I realised, it’s a part of me.” She smiled softly. “I’d love to do that. Just to see what we could do. And you’re so much more focused than me. Maybe you can help me get a handle on it all?” “Can’t change who you are,” Jez knew that really well, she’d struggled with who she thought she was with who she actually was there was a lot of trying to figure out who exactly she was. Although she was used to the supernatural so she had a leg up on that front. “I can try,” she offered even though she didn’t really think she was all that focused sometimes, okay so she was when it mattered but her mind wandered too. “I really do wish I knew about the Harman witches, the stuff they know. I always feel like I’m so behind people like Thea or Winnie. And I know it’s no ones fault but still.” She didn’t want to change who she was. “I mean, I’m Iliana Dominick. I’m a Harman but I’m a Dominick too. I was one first and I’m proud of my name and my family. But I need to be all those things. A Wild Power, the Witch Child. Delos went through so much but he knew what he was for a long time, we didn’t. Maybe we can help each other figure all this out.” "They grew up with it. You'll figure it out." Jez responded knowing full well she'd learn what she needed to learn. "He may have gone through a lot, but the whole Wild Power thing he's got the leg up, but that doesn't mean we can't learn it or figure it out." She didn't say anything about the family stuff because she had her own issues with who she was and who she wasn't. Iliana nodded, they would. They’d figure all of this out. Having Jez here was going to be amazing and she was very very happy she wasn’t alone anymore. Not that she was ever really, she had Mason and a whole bunch of amazing friends. But someone from home, it meant a lot to her. Even if she did hope Morgead showed up. “We will, because we’re awesome. But for now, want me to show you the theme park? Or the beach?! Atlantis has everything?!” "Theme park? Beach?" Jez blinked feeling a little overwhelmed by it all, not that she would ever admit that she felt overwhelmed about anything. "What they have a huge laser tag thing too?" She quipped. "How about just a tour of where the important things are, like the base." “Oh I dont know. “Yuuup. I wasn’t kidding about everything. I don’t actually know about laser tag but I’m totally gonna find out because that would be so awesome.” She’d bring her around the boring stuff. Iliana knew the base was the main focus and it was important but it was duuulll. “Okay, we’ll start there. You want to get a coffee on the way? Coffee Me Better is amazing. I normally go with herbal tea because Keller fed me coffee once and made me promise I would never drink it again. Apparently, me on coffee is scary as hell.” “Sure, let’s start with a tea for you and coffee for me and go check out this base,” Jez agreed with a nod although a good deal of her attention had shifted to everything around them. She got the impression there was a lot she was going to have to learn about and figure out to get her footing here. She supposed it couldn’t be that bad. |
