"I never got to welcome you to Atlantis!!!" Kara insisted the second she woke up and knew that Mon-El was here but was that really true? Yes, yes it was. Kara had looked up where he was and was headed towards his door when she'd seen him. "I can't believe you are here!" She added throwing her arms around him tightly. That was one of the good things about him, and she wasn't likely to kill him when she hugged him tightly. She let go enough to look up at him. "Are you okay? I mean, the faction thing was weird, I don't even know when you got here!" Kara babbled. “Well, you can now.” Mon-El grinned, as he hugged her back just as tightly. His feelings for the Kryptonian had only increased over the time he’d spent with her. And, well in the Faction thing, whatever that was, nothing had changed in that respect. “Couple of weeks ago, I think.” He said, kissing her nose. She was so cute when she babbled. “Really hard to tell exactly how long, with the faction stuff.” “And what was with you being a twin to that witch that murdered his whole family? The whole thing was so weird!” Kara said leaning into him a little bit more. “I didn’t even get a chance to have a welcome to Atlantis party for you, I mean the guest list wouldn’t be huge, I was thinking a private party, but also a you know, you get to meet all the cool people I’ve met here. Oh! There is this girl named Cara who is really cool, and you know Barry and Cisco are here right? And Sara Lance? I haven’t gotten to know her as well yet, but I’m sure I will, she’s a bartender I think.” “Weird is one word for it. I’m assuming whatever did it thought it was funny or something.” That whole thing freaked him out a bit if he was honest. That someone could share his face. And, be...so different to him. Sure, Mon-El knew he wasn’t exactly perfect. But, he’d been trying so hard to be a better man. He could never imagine being anything like Kai, though. Even the spoilt prince hadn’t been that bad. Right? “Well, I was quite hoping for a party for two, if I’m honest. But, we can always do a meet and greet after that. I’d love to meet anyone you want me to.” “Or, it could be the only way to explain people who look so much alike, I mean that world didn’t scream one that would be understanding to something like that, so making people siblings would be the most logical..” Kara said with a small shrug at the thought. “Come on!” Kara said taking his hand heading towards where she was housed. “I think we can handle alone time, but we should probably pick up food on the way.” “Seems likely.” Mon-El grinned, as he let her tow him towards her apartment. “Well, I am being spoilt. You really must have missed me.” He sounded amused and sure of himself. Even if he didn’t entirely feel it inside. Kara was the one person who had ever made him feel less than sure of himself. But, the one thing he knew he could never stop being sure of was the way he felt about her. She really was his kryptonite. “When are you from, anyway?” “I did miss you, a lot,” okay, so she wasn’t sure if it had to do with missing people from home too, but she figured it was something of both. “Right after that creepy guy Mxyzptlk showed up, we got rid of him, but yeah, creepy guy,” Kara shrugged. “Barry is from something about a musical, so I know about some stuff in the future. The music mister or something like that?” “I am definitely alright with that.” Mon-El grinned, as he wrapped an arm around her waist as they walked. “Before or after we made it to bed?” He tried to make a joke about how much time they’d lost. But, it was hard. Especially since that meant she didn’t know who he really was. She hadn’t found out that secret yet. And, while part of him was tempted to just not tell her. He knew how big of a mistake that was. And, all they needed was his parents to turn up here, and his whole life would be turned on it’s head. And, he’d be guilty of lying about it not once, but twice. “Yeah, I’m from about a week after that.” He replied distractedly. “Hey, umm. When we get back to your room. Can we talk?” "Wouldn't you like to know," she teased but didn't finish her playful thought as he started to ask her if they could talk. "Yeah, of course, we can, is everyone okay? Are you okay? Is Alex okay? Is everyone else okay?" “Everyone’s fine, I promise. I just need to tell you something.” He replied nervously. Worried that it would turn into an argument again. An argument he had hated last time. But, he hoped that maybe him being honest about it this time round would be in his favour. Once they got to her room, he pulled her down to sit on the sofa with him, knowing that if she didn’t want to, she could stop him. “So, umm. I hoped this would never matter. But, it turns out a lot of my people are alive, just scattered across the galaxy. Including my parents. They came to Earth, following the beacon I’d sent before you cut it off.” He broke off, his hands fidgeting. He knew they’d gotten passed this back home. But, that didn’t stop him being nervous about having this conversation. “I need to tell you who I am. I am so sorry I lied to you. But, it seemed like the safer thing to do at the time. Especially considering your opinion on Daxamites. But, you know that prince that you said was the worst of the bunch?” He looked up at her, hoping she’d put it together without him needing to explain it. With a wary expression she sat down watching him with uncertainty, this didn't look good. Okay... so some of his people were alive, that was okay, right? She had a mixed feeling when she heard the words, but if some of his people were alive, well, okay. Everything that came after that was surprising. Her hand went limp, and she pulled back as she started to stand up. "Are you tell me...?" Kara's expression turned a horrified shock. "You?" Mon-El grimaced as he took in her shocked expression, and her hand slipped from his. He knew this wouldn’t go well. “I was. But, I’m not anymore. I’ve changed. You’ve made me want to change. My parents, they wanted me to help them rebuild Daxam. But, you made me realise that what we had wasn’t right.” He stayed seated as she stood, and looked up at her. His eyes glistening with unshed tears. He couldn’t bear to lose her. But, he knew he had to be honest this time. Or she might never forgive him. “I told them no. I wanted to stay on Earth and help people. I like the person I am when I’m around you. I don’t ever want to stop being that person.” "What?!" That was a lot of information he was throwing at her. "Your parents what? You're parents - Earth... I have a feeling you have a lot more to tell me." Kara said with her eyes narrowing. Mon-El had hoped she’d understood what he meant, that maybe he wouldn’t have to come right out and say it. “My parents are King Lar Gand and Queen Rhea of Daxam. They’re alive, and they came to Earth. To take me back. Take me home.” The tears started to fall down his cheeks, so scared that he would lose her again. That maybe this time she wouldn’t forgive him for lying. “Mon-El, will you just tell me everything right now?” Kara said, she hated seeing the tears, but she still felt like there was a lot he wasn't telling her. "What happened?" Mon-El wiped the tears from his eyes. Once upon a time, he couldn’t have imagined feeling for someone the way he felt about Kara. Took a deep breath, and told her everything. Told her about how she’d found out who he really was. How she’d reacted. About how they’d finally managed to work things out via the Music Meister’s musical dream thing. Everything. He knew he was dumping a lot of information on her at once. But, he’d promised he wouldn’t lie to her again. Even if she didn’t remember it now, he did. Kara asked a few questions as he started to tell her everything. It felt like it was some kind of messed up story. How was that possible? How was this what happened in her future? What was wrong with his mother! Kara didn't say it, but she sounded like a horrible woman. Kara just couldn't imagine what else was going to happen. "Wow," she finally said having sat back down. Her hands were resting on her legs as she looked straight ahead blankly. "That's," Kara started but stopped. "I mean Barry mentioned singing, but..." Words clearly weren't working for her at that moment. “Yeah.” Mon-El agreed. “It’s screwed up, right?” He wasn’t sure what else to say really. He went to hold her hand, before thinking better of it, and standing up instead. “I, umm, guess you have a lot to think about. Sorry. I’ll umm, go” He started heading towards the door. He figured she wouldn’t want him around right now. Kara watched him stand up and say something, she didn't actually hear it, but that was because her mind was racing and she felt like she was in some weird out of body moment where everything crashed down on her. When he was towards the door, she finally snapped out of it a little. Standing she hurried up to him and grabbed one of his hands. "Yeah, you're right. I do need some time to process all of this," she told him. "But after I think about it, I want to see you." Kara dropped his hand and stepped back. Mon-El looked up at her, hope dawning in his eyes. She still wanted to see him. He smiled slightly, and nodded. “Call me when you’re ready.” He replied, as he headed out the door. |
