There were some things in the world that Lissa just couldn’t help but go to, that’s how she ended up at the farmer's market outside of the Capitol building. She wanted to check out the selection and figure out if it was going to be a monthly thing or if it was only going to be a once in awhile thing. So far she’d been really impressed with everything and found herself standing in front of a fruit stand with a number of different fruits she’d never seen in her life. She was picking them up and smelling the different ones out of curiosity when someone came up beside her. Speeding through the market, Barry slowed to a normal speed as he reached the fruit stand and flashed a grin at the blonde standing next to him when he came to a stop. “Hey,” he greeted her. Lissa could feel the burst of wind as Barry slowed, she turned his direction with a soft smile, “Hi,” she said before looking back to the fruit. “Have you seen any of these before?” Shaking his head, Barry picked up a piece that looked interesting. “No, I haven’t. I wonder where this one’s from?” A lot of it looked similar to fruits they had at home but still different, but he’d gotten used to Atlantis having a lot of things he’d never seen before. “From what I’ve heard, there are some from other galaxies, worlds that are long gone,” Lissa stopped herself from going on. “It’s a lot, seeing so many different varieties.” “Cool, though, right?” Barry offered. He'd been to a few different Earths before, but this was something else. There were more realities and cultures out there than he ever could have dreamed of. “This place really is incredible.” "It is," she agreed. "So, you're settling in okay here in Atlantis? I know it can be a little bit weird." Barry nodded. “I’m used to a little weird,” he admitted with a smile. “Atlantis is just a different kind of weird, I guess. There are people I miss from home, but otherwise, it’s really not so bad.” There were always people to miss, Lissa missed the version of Scott she’d known in Atlantis, and a lot of people from home herself. “You never know who will show up next,” she offered. “I guess that’s true,” he said. “Cisco and Kara are here, Mon-El and Oliver showed up, too. Anyone else could pick up those coins.” It was generally in Barry’s nature to be hopeful, and he found that idea comforting. "Exactly, you never know who will pick up a coin next," Lissa said with a soft smile. She knew sometimes people who picked them up weren't precisely those that others wanted to see, but she wasn't going to say that right now. “So, who’s on your wish list?” he wondered out loud. He didn’t know Lissa super well, but he knew there were quite a few people from her world here and he wondered who was missing. It seemed like almost everyone here was waiting for someone. At the question, she gave a slightly sad smile. “Ideally I’d love to see my brother again, he came for a little bit, and it was great, but I guess at this point… I don’t know. I’ve been away from home for years now. I guess I just have gotten used to this kind of life.” Barry nodded. Seeing Wally would be great, he thought, or Joe, but Iris was at the top of his list. It had been long enough that he sort have doubted it would happen, but you never really knew for sure. “How long has it been, for you?” he asked her. "Oh, gosh, Rose and I arrived in Breckenridge in 2014, and if I count the years logically, even if time and space are different here, I guess three-four years since I've been home, or I guess to where I'm from." She hadn't thought about it in a while, but it was true, it had been years. "It's not a bad thing though, Breck became home, and this place needs us, so I guess we do what we have to do right?" “That’s a long time, Barry commented, but he smiled when she echoed his own thoughts on their mission here, nodding his head. “There are reasons to like Atlantis, anyway,” he added. “Even when I miss home, it isn’t hard to find reasons to stay.” |
