Tower One/Liv's Apartment
Catching rat!Davina
Low - Complete |
It had already been a couple of weeks since her conversation with Kai about calling a truce and yet Liv still found herself trying to decide what to do with everything that was said. She hadn’t mentioned anything to Bonnie about it, but they’d both been busy lately so neither had done anything else with the ascendant to work around Atlantis’ magic. They were close, but there was still something missing. The thing was, Kai had wanted her to agree not to kill him and in return he wouldn’t try to kill her, but Liv never had any intention of killing Kai. No, she’d wanted to send him back to the hell hole that he’d somehow managed to crawl back out of to Atlantis and to his freedom. Technically, she wouldn’t be breaking that truce if she and Bonnie sent him there, right? Yeah. She was positive that Kai would see it that way. Trying to push all of those thoughts out of her mind, though, Liv had taken a walk to one of the restaurants near her tower for something to eat. Living alone was good, but it also sucked sometimes when you didn’t want to eat by yourself. The friends that she did have were either on the mission, working, or otherwise busy. So, she ate a burger and got a dessert to go. Once she was back at the tower, Liv opened the main door when suddenly a rat came scurrying past her into the lobby. “Oh, shit,” she said with a slight grimace. Liv wasn’t exactly squeamish, but she didn’t want to be living with rats either. She called out for help, but no one else was in the lobby at the time. The rat was in the middle of the lobby but wasn’t running to hide like it probably should have been. Instead, it was almost staring at her. With a sigh, she broke off a small piece of her cookie and tossed it to the rat in order to try and catch it and toss it outside. It went for the cookie and when she tossed her jacket over the thing, something flickered magically in the air, and the jacket started to rise and the rat seemed to be getting bigger underneath it. “Um…” What in the hell was going on? Atlantis was so messed up sometimes. The thought process that Davina had while she was a rat made little to no sense. She let a couple of people pet her, she played hide and go seek at one point and was running around and had a strong desire to eat any little thing that was dumped on the ground. It was kind of disgusting, the other weird thing? While she could see people, she found it hard to figure out who the heck they were and what the heck they wanted from her. Voices sounded different. People smelled a lot different. She could tell what Liv had been eating, and it had made her stop in the middle of whatever room she'd been in. Cookie. Yummy. As she ate it, she squeaked when the jacket came flying over her. That's when everything changed. It was slow, really slow, but she started to change. First it was just in size, and eventually, she had real feet, and her arms were coming back to normal, her head, her body, well she was human again. Just naked. "Shit!" Davina said as she took the jacket that was now pretty much just covering her head and held it around her. "Liv?" She asked as she caught sight of the person. "Do you mind?" She asked nodding to the jacket, if she could put it on this would be a lot less awkward. The rat began turning into an actual person, and it took Liv a minute to realize that this was someone actually from Atlantis rather than a real rat turning human. Her eyes widened as Davina appeared in front of her, naked no less, and looked like she was still trying to figure out what exactly happened herself. “Uh, yeah, go ahead.” She nodded about the jacket. There wasn't anyone in the lobby right this second, but that could easily change any minute. “You're in one of the other towers, right? Come on. I'll give you something to wear back.” The truth was, Liv knew exactly what tower and what room Davina lived in because she knew exactly where Kai lived, and Davina happened to be his lucky roommate. They started walking towards her room, and Liv glanced over at her. “So… do you know how you became a rat? And how long were you like that?” If it was along the lines of drinking or eating something from Atlantis, she wanted to know so she could steer clear. Very carefully she pulled the jacket on and closed it. Davina wasn't really shy, but this was awkward enough that she didn't want anyone walking in and seeing her like this. She just nodded to Liv and started to follow her. She was well aware that Liv knew exactly where she lived and who she lived with, but at the moment Davina didn't care about any of that. When Liv started asking her questions, she shrugged first. "No, it just happened. I remember waking up and thinking about a project I'm working on and the next thing I knew I was running around trying to eat every single scrap of food I could find." She made a disgusted look. "Which now, just, gross." Shaking off the thought she glanced back to Liv, "I have no idea how long, I don't even know what time it is right now." She glanced around, but they'd just rounded a corner away from a clock. "A few hours at least, but time wasn't exactly the same." “Another Atlantis quirk I guess,” Liv said with a shrug. It was weird, but this place got more and more weird every day she stuck around. They arrived at her room, so she let Davina in and tossed her keys and bag onto one of the chairs. “My roommate disappeared a while ago, so no one else is here and no one else will walk in on you or anything.” She went into the bedroom and picked out the first pair of jeans and t-shirt that she came across that were both clean. She doubted Davina would care what the clothes looked like as long as she wasn't walking around naked anymore. “Here you go,” she said to Davina and pointed to Enzo’s old room. “You can put them on in there, or there's another bathroom. Most all of Enzo’s stuff left when he did, but if there's anything in there you'd rather have then feel free.” Davina didn't say much, mostly just nodded and took the clothes with a thank you. She really didn't care what she was wearing as long as it was clothing and she wasn't a freaking rat anymore. She paused while in Enzo's room and took a look around with a small, sad smile. She always thought he was one of the best of the ones from Mystic Falls. Taking a deep breath, she left the room and came back to where Liv was. "Thanks again, I'm sure having someone turn from a rat into a naked person right in front of you wasn't on your to do list for the day." Davina didn't know if she should say something else or just get out of the way. “Not exactly,” she said with a shrug. “But it’s hardly the strangest thing I’ve seen here. Or the strangest thing that ever happened back home either come to think of it.” There was a small smile to cross her lips. All in all, turning a witch into a rat was as harmless and crazy as things could get in Atlantis. Well, harmless because it wasn’t her that it happened to. She did wonder if it happened to anyone else though or if it was just Davina. “These sort of things usually happen to a group of people, so who knows if there’s anyone else running around as a rat.” She sure wasn’t going to go looking around for any more of them. Liv figured she’d done her good deed for the day. While she was also another witch, Davina wasn’t exactly someone Liv considered a friend. She didn’t have anything against the girl except for the fact she shared a room with Kai. They actually might have been friends if not for the big elephant in the room that was her psycho brother. She shifted her weight back onto the balls of her feet as she stood kind of awkwardly. She wasn’t really sure what else she should do or say, if anything. “Do you need anything else?” She asked, mostly trying to break some of the awkwardness. "Oh, I'm sure there are other people running around trying to eat everything they can get their hands," she paused with a grimace. "Paws and teeth on." The thought was really uncomfortable, but she didn't really know how else to put it. Right, she should probably get out of Liv's way, she wasn't stupid, she knew that most everyone from Mystical Falls had a problem with her because she happened to live with Kai, or because she was dating Kol Mikaelson. Even if she had tried to help Bonnie, but that had been more for Enzo and Enzo was different. "No," Davina said awkwardly. "I just needed clothing so I could get back without having all of Atlantis checking me out." Pausing again she tried a friendly smile. "Thanks again, you know, for catching me, I don't know how long I would have been stuck like that." “No problem. No matter Atlantis’ sense of humor, nobody needs to crawl on all fours as an actual rat.” Technically that wasn’t completely true. There were definitely a handful of people, not necessarily all of them here in Atlantis, but several that she could have stood to see living life as rats for the rest of their lives. It would probably make life so much easier. She felt like she should say something else before she left, but Liv hardly wanted to open that can of worms. Maybe one day, but today didn’t seem like it was going to be that day. “Here, take the rest of this,” she said and handed over the small baggie with the rest of the cookie she’d used to help trap her. “It’s probably better than whatever… else you’d been dining on for most of the day.” Davina wasn’t sure she wanted to see the cookies again but she also got the impression that Liv was trying to be nice and she didn’t really want to be rude, seeing as Liv had just saved her from spending more hours as a rat. “Thanks,” she said taking the bag. “And thanks for you, know, everything.” She said making a quick exit. As soon as she was out of the building she nearly dumped the cookies in the trash but decided not to and continued on home, with the cookies. |
