NPC Plot
Rating : low; Complete Intake |
The moment Cara felt someone from her world had arrived, she went into action with trying to figure out who it could be, especially because she felt that strong bond. Sophie never crossed her mind, only because of the last time they had seen one another.
Knowing it was Sophie caused Cara to move even quicker into action. No matter what she was a tomorrow person who recently broke out, and Cara had to deal with that, but also because this was her family. The small argument with John would be dealt with later, ignoring that mess for now as she put shoes on so she could head to the intake building. Yes, she could have made it a lot quicker, but Cara needed that extra time to wrap her head around all of this, and figure out how to explain it to her sister. Part of her knew she should be taking it easy after the last mission with the broken ribs and other injuries; however, Cara wasn’t interested in taking it easy. This was giving her a reason to ignore all of that. Entering the Intake office, her eyes widened at the crowd of people. This was insane! Cara would never find Sophie in this crowd, using her abilities, she tapped into Sophie’s head for a moment to see what she was around and her location. Even though that also welcomed all the thoughts everyone in this place was having, making Cara’s head a mess of thoughts, but she quickly threw up the blockers to ignore it once she knew where her sister was. Making her way over to where Sophie was, the sight of her caused Cara to smile, knowing she really was here. “Well, you’re a sight for sore eyes,” she teased, smiling. “Has this place said anything yet about you guys?” She didn't know how she got here or where she was other that what her sister offered. She knew Cara said she'd explain it all in person but she couldn't help worrying about what she was missing at home. This had been her chance. This was what she trained for. This was what made her special. And she was here instead of back home and on stage. 'It's not fair,' Sophie practically screamed inside her head. There was already too much going on inside her head. Flashes of voices. She knew she needed to calm down but that was not exactly in Sophie's nature. She worried about a lot. Then she heard her sister and everything seemed to snap back into focus for a moment. Sophie threw her arms around Cara, feeling a mixture of emotions. "I could say the same." She was both happy and relieved to find her sister but she also felt overwhelmed and scared. This shouldn't be possible. "No one has really said much," Sophie said, and added 'that I want to hear,' to herself. They couldn't send her back. That was the only thing she focused on when speaking with someone. Honestly, Cara was a bit unsure on how this meeting with her sister was going to go. Before Cara could answer her questions a little easier and she could do her role as big sister by watching out for Sophie, protecting her by allowing her to continue with a normal life. Only here, she couldn’t answer all the questions Sophie might have because she didn’t know all the answers, couldn’t make it so Sophia could return home, and part of her was worried about letting Sophie down; however, she was pushing all that aside to be there for Sophie right now. When Sophie threw her arms around Cara, a small groan of pain slipped out of Cara’s mouth. “Take it easy, I don’t need people thinking you can take me down all that easy. Got a reputation here that I need to keep up,” she teased, waiting for the pain to pass before hugging her sister tight, ignoring the pain this time. Cara’s eyes closed, taking this moment to enjoy the fact that Sophie was real. It wasn’t some joke or prank to screw with her, Sophie was here and she was hugging her. Taking a step back, Cara ran her fingers through her dark hair, glancing around the whole place for a moment. “Alright, well this looks like it could be a while on dealing with everyone. Are you hungry? Did you eat?” Cara asked, turning her attention back on her sister. “Cause you have a choice, we can go find a quiet little section to talk and stay here or I can go talk to the front for a moment, and we can go get you some food, talk, and then come back?” Either way, Cara knew she had her own questions that she was going to need to ask Sophie once the youngest Coburn decided on what she wanted to do. "What happened? Did I hurt you?" Sophie asked, her brows furrowing with concern for her sister. That got a smile out of Sophie. Her be able to take down Cara? She had seen how easily she was able to control her abilities. While they did scare her, it took talking to Astrid to realize that her sister hadn't chosen this life either. "I'm just glad you're here. I thought I got myself stuck here somehow." "I could eat," she answered her sister, preferring to be some place else. Hopefully something that was quieter than intake. Everyone seemed to be buzzing around. "Can we come back?" Sophie asked. There were just too many people here all at once. Quickly shaking her head, Cara didn’t want Sophie to think she hurt her. “No, you didn’t do anything. The last mission I was on I got a few busted up ribs, nothing to worry about, but some pain can happen with certain actions. But I’m fine, and you don’t need to worry about it because they are healing,” Cara replied. Last thing she needed was more people telling her to relax when that wasn’t really her style. Cara couldn’t sit without doing anything, she would keep fighting even with broken bones, and the idea of sitting still was a no go. “No, you didn’t get yourself stuck here, and I’ll be here to help you around for as long as you need it,” Cara told her with a smile. She also knew she would have to work with Sophie on her abilities because they were active and without the bracelet, Sophie was going to need to learn how to control them. Last thing they needed was a tomorrow person unable to control their abilities. “Of course we will come back, I figured you could use a small break from in here,” Cara had been in enough heads of different breakouts that she was sure the voices were probably getting to Sophie. Cara figured lunch, and giving her a few pointers would help her with the voices in her head. “If you want, I can go give my information to the ones in charge so if they need you, they can reach me?” Cara wanted her sister comfortable and not think she was going to miss out on something, making it that Cara wanted to try and do everything that would have her sister relaxing a bit. “And anything specific you want food wise? New person gets to decide.” She told her with a smirk, leaving the ball in her court on the food choice. Sophie was worried about her sister after hearing that. A mission? It did give Soph more questions about this place and what goes on here but she was going to wait. "Mhmm," she answered, keeping her opinions to herself for the moment. If she was going to be stuck with these powers...she knew she was going to need help. Maybe if she could control them she didn't have to use them? She nodded. Talking to someone and coming back seemed like the best thing in Sophie's mind. She needed a break, a chance to catch her breath. Over the last 24 hours so much had changed. It was hard to keep up. "Pancakes," Sophie answered. She didn't eat them often. It they are one of her favorite things. |
