Gwen’s eyes opened slowly, her head feeling groggy as if she had woken up at the wrong time. She blinked a few times, trying to take in the light around her, and within a few moments she had that feeling of panic. Now alert, she shot up and fully took in her surroundings. It took her a moment to remember what had happened, picking up the coin, but how had she arrived here? And where exactly was here? It didn’t look like any of the rooms in the castle, so she couldn’t possibly have fainted. Kidnap? But then again so many of the things in the room around her were not something she recognised.
Suddenly, a voice appeared and her head whipped around to look in the direction. Her eyes widened and she moved further away on the bed, but listened. What kind of sorcery was this? She had come to think more on magic given her knowledge of Merlin, though she hadn’t had the chance to speak with him about it yet, but that didn’t make her feel happy around it. She was still wary. But she listened. A war? Her people at risk? She was Queen, she had to pay attention. She had to help. But she also had to be in Camelot, not in a strange place she did not feel she knew at all. It didn’t feel like home or in any way normal. She was happy to work but if there was a battle she had to be involved. It was her duty to protect those that looked to her for strength. Were her knights here? They would be able to assist her. She could plan strategies, she could look at it from her throne room, but she wasn’t able to go out to fight. She couldn’t risk Camelot being left with no ruler. Her eyes glanced back at the magical item, listening to the final note. All of the words were unfamiliar to her, so she had to find help. With that, she slowly got up, checked to see that indeed her dresses were there and then moved to open the door.
