While others had experienced some unusual Atlantis occurrences, for Wanda the week had been relatively quiet. Given how the month had started with Pietro leaving her, she was grateful the days had been rather quiet and that she hadn't been sent out on a mission this month. It seemed like the last few months Wanda had been included in the mission briefings or explorations. She didn't mind, staying busy had always been good for her, but the last few weeks her mind and thoughts had both been distracted. She still worked on her training with her team as well as some on her own, but she hadn't been expected to be mission-ready either. The days were beginning to get longer, and the temperatures warmer. Having grown up in a place where temperatures often dipped down, she was used to the cool weather but still preferred the warmth of spring. Spring was the season of life. Each day she took a walk around the pathways outside the towers. Beautiful displays began to appear, and she noticed all of the changes that occurred each and every day that she passed by. Late mornings on into the afternoons were often spent training. She and Alicia found new spells to combine and experiment with each session so that they would have a vast array of combinations or assists to one another when they were called in for another mission. It was something she started to enjoy more than she thought that she might, but Wanda knew a lot of that was her training partner. Alicia had become a close friend, and the sessions rarely ever felt like work anymore. Instead of staying in for the night and cooking up something on her own, Wanda decided to go out. She had a small bite to eat earlier but dressed in a simple black dress with her red shawl draped over her shoulders. Nothing fancy, but enough that she wasn't dressed in anything too casual either. Walking through the city, she ended up at Cava during one of its more busier times for the day but managed to find a seat at the bar area. More often than not, Wanda preferred something with a little more bite than a glass of wine, but she didn't step out specifically for drinks but for a simple evening out and a good time and conversation if she so happened to run into anyone interesting. This was Atlantis, after all. You never knew who was going to show up. |
