John knew how odd a person he must have seemed; those abilities setting him outside the human description. Hell it had only been a few weeks since his sister injected him with that alien DNA and he still found himself struggling to come to terms with what it all meant too. Still self reflection and analysis had never been something the Marine favored. Instead Reaper preferred being deployed into the field; where his only real focus was on completing the mission and keeping his team safe. At least in the heat of battle John could feel more like himself...even when his body defied the natural laws of man.
As Levi spoke up John intently listened. All that initial annoyance fading away as he turned his attention to the intel being shared. The news that there were people who could turn into the titans was surprising, but not shocking. After all the Marine had witnessed scientists being turned into monsters before. Yet the request to not mention his abilities to others made sense, and Reaper nodded at last. "Copy that. I'll keep a lid on it"
Grimm spotted that grimace but kept his mouth shut, instead turning his attention to just finishing lacing up the boot. Oh first chance he got John would hose it clean, right after taking the longest hot shower ever. Till that chance arose though the mission mattered more then a bit of discomfort...plus he had waded through sewage and blood before, so a bit of titan bile didn't really seem that bad.
The news that the others were doing well caught the Marine's attention, and for the first time since being deployed John actually smiled a tad. "That's good to hear. The titan fuckers aren't a joke, so I'm glad to hear that the others haven't sustained any casualties." Done with his boot at last Reaper stood up and stretched for a moment before turning his gaze back to Levi as the man kicked the titan in the head. That anger he saw in Levi wasn't anything new; hell that rage was something John had felt when fighting his way through the research station on Mars. "I had a thought a while back, but with things being so busy...well there wasn't really a chance to share it with you. Have you considered speaking to some of the others in Atlantis about finding a better fuel source for the mobility gear? Gasoline is fine, but it runs out rapidly. However with all that advanced tech it shouldn't be to hard to outfit your men with an upgraded device."
