BARRY ALLEN & KARA DANVERS 8TH APRIL OUTSIDE TOWER 3 TBD/LOW PLACEHOLDER FOR NOW |
Barry had gotten used to the idea of parallel worlds and alternate timelines by now. He'd been to a few different versions of earth, he'd gone into the speedforce on more than one occasion, he'd created Flashpoint though his own hasty decisions. The concept of other worlds and times definitely wasn't knew to him. Time travel was a thing. It didn't even seem that crazy compared to the rest of his life. Atlantis, though? That was supposed to be a myth. He'd never dreamed that picking up a strange looking coin - one the seemed to pulse invitingly at him, as if it was asking him to do just that - would lead to him waking up in a lost city that shouldn't even exist by all rights. Will you stay and fight with us? The last words of the hologram echoed in his ears as he considered the answer. There were people at home who needed him. He still hadn't found a way to save Iris, but it seemed like every time he tried, he screwed something up. Hurt someone else he cared about. Upset Iris, too, in fact. He knew, too, that with the way time travel often worked, his friends might not even notice he was gone. What was weeks or months in Atlantis could end up being second in Central City. He'd been given a week to decide before he had to give a definitive answer, so Barry left the apartment he'd been assigned to explore the city, deciding he could think about what he wanted to do later. He was in freaking Atlantis. There was no way he wasn't going to look around and enjoy it for however long he actually ended up being stuck here. Maybe getting to know the city and the people would help him make up his mind, but either way, he figured this was kind of a once in a lifetime opportunity. “OH MY GOSH!” Kara squeaked when she saw the news flash that Barry Allen had arrived in Atlantis. She wasted no time darting into the air and flying looking for him. She knew him well enough to know that he would not be able to not look around. This was Barry he was a curious person just like her. When she spotted him, she dropped out of the sky right in front of him with a big smile on her face. "Barry Allen!" She said with her hands on her hips before she bounced, rolling her head back with a laugh. "Come here!" She said and pulled him in for a quick hug. "I can't believe you are here, I mean well I can believe that you are here, what place wouldn't want the fastest man alive to join them in the fight, but I can't believe you are here-here. Like here, in Atlantis, finally!" She said excitedly. “Kara Danvers.” Barry grinned as he saw his friend from one of the other Earths he’d visited, the one he’d just been stuck in a musical with, standing in front of him. It didn’t matter that he’d literally just been with her trying to figure their way out of some crazy musical thing, because he was still really happy to see her. “I should have known you’d be here,” he said, smiling as he hugged her. “What about everyone else?” If Kara was here, maybe that meant some of their other friends had made it. There were too many of them to name, but Kara would know who he meant. They’d both met most or all of the most important people in each other’s lives at this point. Kara’s smile faltered a little when he asked about everyone else. "Well, Laurel and Sara Lance are here, I know, I know it sounds weird, Laurel is supposed to be dead, but people come from different times, so I think she came here before she well..." She let that trail off before adding anything. "Oh, and Leonard Snart is here, he doesn't really seem like the most friendly of guys, but he's around, and this guy John Constantine that is from our world. I haven't actually talked to him, but I know he knows Oliver." She shrugged. "I'm so happy you are here!!!" She said again. "Which is really really selfish of me, but..." She let trail off again with a sheepish smile. Barry nodded. He knew for Sara and Laurel were, even if he didn't know either of them well. He was also really happy to hear that Laurel was getting a second chance at living here. It was disappointing that none of his close friends were here aside from Kara, but he did brighten a little at the mention of Snart. It seemed like Atlantis was big on second chances, no matter what you'd done in your past. “Yeah, Snart is definitely an acquired taste,” he admitted. “There's good in him, but he can be a little rough.” He paused. “He's dead in my timeline. Sacrificed himself to save his team. I'm glad he's getting another chance here.” “How long have you been here?” he asked after a short pause. “Cause, I literally just saw you, but I know time can be weird.” "He has that almost villain but not really a villain sounding voice thing, and it's weird, I don't know any other way to say, but I haven't really talked to him much so I can't really judge." Another shrug with a sad look came as he told he was dead. "So, I guess he went for the not really villain sounding side of him? It's great that he gets a second chance!" "Oh, since December, it's April by the way, not sure if you knew that with the whole time thing... Wait? What? Really? You just saw me? Where? What were we doing? Did something else bad happen?" Kara's eyes got wide as she waited for an answer. Nodding, Barry was glad Kara got it. Not everyone would be so quick to believe a villain could become good, but he knew they shared that tendency to believe in the good in people. Neither of them was the type to completely write someone off over their past. “We were in a musical,” he said, grinning in anticipation of her reaction to that. It had felt pretty unbelievable even when it was happening to you. “Well, you were in a musical and then I went after you so then we were in the musical together. It was totally weird.” Kara's mouth fell open, her mouth wide as he told her they were in a musical. After a moment she shut her mouth quickly. "We were in a what? A musical? How did we end up in a musical? Why were we in a musical? What kind of... person? Thing? Has the power to put people in musicals." She paused as her eyes got wide. "Did we sing? Were we singing in this musical or were we sitting around not singing and watching people, were there dance numbers? I love dance numbers! But wait, how were we in a musical?" “We were in a musical,” he confirmed with a grin. She hadn’t disappointed with her reaction at all. “With singing and dancing and all of it. You actually have a good voice.” The last was said a little teasingly, as that had been the most important question to answer. “Some guy from your world,” he continued to answer her other questions. “Came from your Earth, I think, said he trapped us to teach us a lesson or something. He called himself the Music Meister.” Barry shrugged. “We were trying to figure it out when I picked up this coin and ended up here.” “Wait, wait, wait! You and I got trapped by the Music Meister?” She asked still trying to put it together and how any of it happened. “Music Meister?” She said again. “I’ve heard of some really weird and awkward bad guy names, but that just sounds.. Comical.” Kara said with disbelief. “Technically, you got trapped by him first,” Barry explained. “Your friends brought you to my Earth and I tried to help you before he got me, too.” He couldn’t help laughing and then nodding his head. It was pretty lame as far as bad guys went. “So,” he added, flashing a grin, “you want to show me around? I could use a good tour guide.” “Not that I don’t think you’d be able to fix it, but why did we come to your Earth?! I’d never want to put anyone you know or you in danger!” Kara said trying to put it together in her mind. “Well, I’ll be the best tour guide to Atlantis you have ever had. I know where all the good food is - especially the buffets that have food that isn’t terrifying, but I think they’re about to start charging me more….” She trailed off wrapping an arm around him. “Totally selfish, I’m so happy to see you!” “It’s a long story,” Barry said. He should have known she’d worry about who she was endangering. He’d explain it all, as much as he could, but the idea of a tour sounded like a lot more fun and he grinned broadly when she mentioned the good food. Slipping an arm around her waist, he pulled her close in a friendly half-hug. “Lead the way, Supergirl,” he said, nodding toward the street. “I’m starving!” |
