Walking out of the intake office she’d just been in getting the run down of what was happening. Luckily for her she had already done the whole being kidnapped thing and coming to a new place. Still looking out over the water as the wind blew around her it felt different. Zipping up her coat she let out a small sigh as she headed towards where she was told her parents might be. “This does not look like Breckenridge Colorado,” Taisia muttered to herself. “Tai?” Rose’s eyes went wide as she looked up from the report she was trying to read while walking to see her daughter coming toward her. Her expression wary, she wouldn't let herself smile just yet as she knew this could be someone who just looked like Taisia. She really hoped not. Stopping mid-step Taisia smiled. “Mom?” She asked with a curious expression. “You getting kidnapped to new places too now?” Taisia had the concept that her Mom hadn’t seen her for days. “What are you reading anyways? Looks important.” Instead of answering her daughter’s questions, Rose closed the distance between them and pulled her into a tight hug. “Oh, I missed you, kid,” she murmured, holding her tight for a moment. Tai joked pretending to cough slightly at how tight her Mom wrapped her arms around her. “Mom, a girl’s gotta breathe too! I don’t think you want to put away for child suffocation.” She teased. “What? How long has it been?” Rose pulled away, embarrassed at the show of affection. Normally, she wasn’t one to get all sentimental. “Long enough that I’m not pregnant anymore,” she joked. “WHAT?!” Taisia yelled as she stepped back and looked at her Mom, she probably should have been able to tell but tight hugs took the forefront of her thoughts. “You’re kidding, right? I mean you're not.” She said waving a hand up and down. “How freaking long has it been? How old is my brother? Is Dad here? Is Dad a normal Dad? What the hell is going on?” Rose laughed a little. She couldn’t help it. “Ivan’s almost seven weeks old now. We’ve been here in Atlantis for three months now. Your dad is...” Rose paused, trying to decide how to put it. “He’s a little behind, but he’s still your dad. Things are still good, and he’s going to be really excited to meet you.” Nevermind that Rose hadn’t quite told Dimitri about their future kids yet. “Seven weeks old?” Tai said her eyes wide. “Damn.” She clearly was letting that sink in. “What do you mean he’s a little behind? How behind, is he…” Taisia didn’t want to say a good version of her father. “You think so?” Tai asked a little skeptical. “He’s a couple of years behind me,” she admitted, “and he doesn’t remember Breck. There’s a lot he doesn’t remember, but he’s still him. And I know he’s going to love you. That’s pretty much a guarantee, kiddo.” She actually did really believe that. Maybe she was biased, but she didn’t think not loving Taisia was possible. “I guess not remembering Breck could be a good thing,” Taisia said thoughtfully for a moment. She gave a small smile knowing that the odds were her father would love her, but she could worry. “So, do I get to meet my little brother? Or do I have to beg?” “Wellll,” Rose said, a mischievous smile on her face, “if begging is one of my choices...” She couldn’t resist a chance to give her daughter a little shit. Taisia narrowed her eyes playfully trying not to laugh. “Mom!” She said shaking her head. “Little Brother time!” Rose laughed. “Okay, fine,” she said, clearly teasing as she wrapped an arm around her daughter’s shoulder and started to lead her toward the suite she shared with Dimitri and Ivan. |
