SHANIA
ANDOR
atlantis interviews by karen page - issue iv
In our next issue, we'll be speaking with one of Atlantis' own residents. Sure, we all mostly consider ourselves residents of Atlantis, but my next guest has always lived in Atlantis since she was born. The daughter of a Jedi and Rebel pilot and all-around awesome chick, I bring you Shania Andor. Speaking with her brought a different perspective to life in Atlantis since she's seen what happens in the future. Or one of the futures, according to what I've heard about how time works here.
KAREN PAGE: Thanks so much for agreeing to sit down with me, Shania. All of these different timelines and future timelines might make my head hurt a little if I really sat and thought hard about them, so let's just dive right in. What's your full name?
SHANIA ANDOR: Shania Jade Andor
KP: Do you have a name preference or something you prefer to be called?
SA: Shan or Shania is fine or whatever.
KP: How long have you been in Atlantis?
SA: My whole life, probably obviously.
KP: It's still a little strange to think about someone being here their entire lives, but that just means you're used to a lot of the crazy happenings around here! Okay, a little personal, but: how old are you?
SA: I'm 22 and a twin which makes me extra special and all that kriff.
KP: I've always heard that twins have a special bond, and you and your sister seem to have that as well. Where exactly did you come from? As in, what world were you from before arriving in Atlantis?
SA: You know, I could totally lie or whatever but I'm pretty sure everyone knows who my parents are so I'll be nice. Born here, uhh like two years from now or something like that.
KP: What sort of job did you have before coming here?
SA: In future Atlantis I'm a student and kriffing -miserable- about it.
KP: I feel like I'm supposed to say that school is important! But I totally understand that and felt the same at the time.
Is it different than what you're doing in Atlantis? How so?
SA: I mean I kinda agreed to take a class a semester so I'll finish my degree like next year now instead of this one or something - but in the future I train basically for no reason, just because I like it. Its what made coming back and staying an easy choice.
KP: In Atlantis, are you in a relationship with anyone? If so, about how long how you been together... and how serious are you?
SA: Does my liquor cabinet and affair with dangerous situations count?
KP: Definitely counts in my book. Do you have any furry friends here?
SA: I do! I have my dog, Pineapple. Shamara totally has like way more pets. She has a cat and she has Pizza, her dog.
KP: Those names are adorable. What's the strangest moment that's happened to you in Atlantis so far?
SA: Uhhh, getting to talk to pre-wedding-versions-of-my-parents, definitely that.
KP: What's been your best moment in Atlantis so far?
SA: The whole Christmas season was kinda cool, you know, with so many people here, and actually getting to see the past or whatever.
KP: What about your worst moment here?
SA: Yeah, lets not bore everyone with the whole kidnapping story or whatever.
KP: I can't imagine how difficult that could have been.
Aside from the unexpected departures, what's something about Atlantis that you wish were different?
SA: Can the sidewalks just... stop turning into shit?
KP: If only we could put in requests, right? If you could change jobs in Atlantis, regardless of qualifications or skills, what would it be?
SA: I don't think I would. I mean, I stayed because I could do the job I couldn't back in the future.
KP: What's the piece of home you miss the most?
SA: Uh, no comment. Yeah, lets go with that.
KP: Now here are a few just for fun: In Atlantis or at home, who would be the first person you'd call if you needed to bury a body?
SA: My twin, Shamara. Because she'd probably be snooping and already know I needed to anyway.
KP: Switch it around: who would be the first person that would call you if they needed to bury a body?
SA: ...samesies?
KP: If you could have any superpower, other than what you may already have, what would it be?
SA: Oh kriff, probably flight - yeah, definitely flight. I mean I'm already a Jedi so I kinda have some of the more cool powers anyway already but not flight, we don't get that.
KP: What might a scene in the gag reel of your life look like?
SA: I'm going to spare myself the shame on that one.
KP: What's the most useless talent you have?
SA: I can do that uh four leaf clover thing or whatever with my tongue?
KP: What reality show most resembles your life?
SA: Is there a reality show where teenagers save the world from evil? If so... wow, someone should tell somebody. That's kind of important.
KP: What reality show most resembles your life?
SA: Any of those like funny video compilation shows - really speaks to my inner trash fire.
KP: How many pairs of shoes do you own?
SA: Like 10, but I probably only wear like 2.
KP: What advice would you give to your younger self?
SA: Stop being an idiot, or something.
KP: What would the theme song for your life be?
SA: I'm like, way not in touch enough with my emotions or whatever to answer that.
KP: Next, let's go for a little bit of 'this or that.' Go with your gut.
Dogs or cats?
SA: Dogs.
KP: Beach or mountains?
SA: Beach.
KP: Hot or cold?
SA: Cold.
KP: Pancakes or waffles?
SA: Waffles.
KP: Early bird or night owl?
SA: Night owl.
KP: Salty or sweet?
SA: Salty.
KP: Chocolate or vanilla?
SA: Chocolate.
KP: Beer or wine?
SA: Wine.
KP: Comedy or horror?
SA: Comedy.
KP: Ass or legs?
SA: Legs.
KP: Party or couch?
SA: Party.
KP: We're nearly finished! Just a few more to wrap things up. What's something about you that people in Atlantis probably don't know?
SA: Uh so in the future I've only worn a dress like literally once. I think I'm up to two times since coming back to the past or whatever. But I guess that's a fun fact or something.
KP: If the war ended today, would you choose to stay or leave?
SA: Leave. I mean, I'm from Atlantis so it would just mean, you know - what we came back for was done. And it'd totally be weird to be around when I'm born... like, super weird. I mean if the war isn't over by the time I am I won't leave or whatever, but if it was I probably would.
KP: If you were to unexpectedly leave Atlantis, how do you want to be remembered?
SA: As like marginally less of a trash fire than I am.
KP: Is there anything else you'd like to tell the rest of Atlantis?
SA: Nah, I've blabbed enough.
And there you have it! A little about the life of one of Atlantis' permanent residents.
That wraps up the first round of interviews that were conducted early last month. I will be contacting several others of you wonderful volunteers very soon to continue with the next several issues!
Stay tuned for more Atlantis Interviews coming your way soon. ♠️
[Editor's note: Please note that Ms. Andror was interviewed before the events that occurred in the Hunger Games last month.]
[ooc: I will be sending out the next batch of interviews to those that volunteered hopefully tonight or tomorrow!! If you haven't volunteered any of yours yet and would like to, please hop right over HERE and leave a comment with their names. Also, if you have any question suggestions for future interviews, you can drop those off HERE, and I'd love you forever. Really - unless you want to keep reading the same questions each and every time, more would be great. :) Remember, the interviewees also have a piece of activity counted for the month. <3]
