Letter to Christian Blacksmith (Izuku Midoriya)
June 3
Christian,
'Sup.
I'm not really a letter writing kind of guy but I'm somehow not surprised I felt compelled to reply to your letter. The longer I spend in Atlantis, the less surprised I am by anything. I haven't exactly been here long myself - just over two months, if you were wondering - but I gave up being surprised early on. It would be way too exhausting.
You asked what the most fun thing I've done since I got here is. That would be a lot easier for me to answer if I thought I was actually a fun person. I mean, I don't think I'm boring, exactly, but too much fun, for me, is usually not a good thing. Things usually start out as fun and spiral very quickly into 'Holy fuck, how the hell did it get this bad?'
Sorry, this is probably sounding like cryptic bullshit. I'll stop.
Any advice, you asked. Well, I guess my advice would be to take each day as it comes. Not just in Atlantis; that's pretty much my advice for life in general. The mantra goes: 'Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference.' I know it sounds pretentious but it does kinda work when you apply it to life, in Atlantis or otherwise.
Anyway, you thanked me for listening but I don't really feel like I've done much so far. I might be a sad sack of shit who doesn't know how to have fun without nosediving into the abyss, but I am a pretty good listener so, you know, feel free to unload. I'm sure you're called Christian Blacksmith as much as I'm called Dick Rabbit so at least we don't have to worry about any breeches of anonymity.
Later.
Mr Rabbit
