She was too young. Too young to have gone to a mission. Marcel hadn’t like the idea of Hope going on the mission, but he had no real saying in any of it, despite the strong feeling he had to protect her. She had been so young the last time he had seen her in his world, and even though she was a teenager now, Marcel couldn’t help but see her as that little girl and thought she was still too young to go on missions.
As soon as he had learned they were back and Hope was in medical, Marcel wasted no time and headed to the medical wing. He wanted to make sure she was okay, and not alone.
He knocked on the door lightly and opened it. “Hey,” he said softly, smiling at the girl.
Hope was fine. She didn’t need to be stuck in here, she’s pretty much healed by now anyways, besides she should be looking for Clarke. Sure, it was painful and there had been that second of worrying if she’d be okay and wondering what it’d be like to die… again.
She was looking at the wall when she heard a knock and watched Marcel walk in. “Marcel, I’m fine.” She said sitting up in bed a little bit more. “They’re just being careful.” She managed not to add annoyingly careful.
“I know you are, but I’m glad they’re keeping you here just for the night... Just in case.” Even though he was sure she was probably healed by now. “Not a fan of hospitals, I take?” He said as he walked closer to her and sat on a chair next to her bed.
“What? So I can be stuck in a white room with beeping machines?” Hope rolled her eyes. “Marcel, I don’t think anyone likes hospitals and it’s not like my upbringing really had me going to them that often.” Between being a fast healer herself and growing up around vampires and hybrids she pretty much healed quickly. “Sorry, I just want out of here.”
He couldn’t help but chuckle a little at her words. “Alright, alright, you do make a good point there. But hey, at least you’re not stuck in here all alone? Unless you want me to go,” he teased her lightly.
She resisted the urge to roll her eyes. “No, it’s okay, you can stay.” She said with a small smile. It was weird having family here, sure she had family back home but she didn’t feel like she saw them that often. “So, what’d I miss here?”
He smiled. “Crazy Atlantis stuff, as usual. A bunch of people got turned into birds,” he said, shaking his head lightly. “I got a book about How to Organize Your Life... It was kinda helpful,” he said with a shrug. “But I’ve fortunately stayed in my body. For now.”
Hope raised an eyebrow. “I guess your two hundred plus years haven’t taught you how to be organized.” Hope commented. “Really Marcel, you should get on that color coordinating, it’d help all your ventures.”
“I’ve been busy running a city and all that, that doesn’t leave much time to color coordinate my closet,” he said, chuckling softly.
“Just think, it might have helped you with running the city,” Hope had to remember that he didn’t know everything yet that happened. She hadn’t told him, or at least she’d tried not to tell him. “Your day walkers and nightwalkers could have been color coordinated.” Even if that wasn’t really a thing anymore Hope did remember hearing about it.
He laughed softly, shaking his head. “Oh yeah, I can see Josh loving the colour-coordinated outfits.” He missed the guy, now that he had mentioned him. He missed a lot of things from back home, but he had a job to do here. And he couldn’t leave Hope alone.
Hope smiled sadly nodding. “Yeah, he would run away with it, or ask you if you’d lost your mind, probably both.” She missed Josh, but Hope missed a lot of people she felt like her world was filled with missing people.
“Yeah, definitely both,” he chuckled softly. “Hey, what do you say I sneak in some popcorn and watch a movie?” He suggested.
Hope nodded. “Yeah, that’d be great.” She said. “Don’t get upset if I fall asleep though.”
