"Lady Syd, is that you?" called out Thor, who had been returning from his Funtimes Hat shopping trip, thanks to the notice from Stark about a party. He was rather fond the of the large deer antlers covered in blinking lights and the snowflake designs that covered the middle part. In all, he was in a good mood, yet he hadn't expected to find someone very obviously trapped by mistletoe out at this time of night. In truth, he already knew it was her due to the large shadow lounging beside her.
Dol had already been considered to get her out of the the mistletoe this time, as had just texting Jesse. Or Ashe (that might’ve been weird? Probably.) or even Fray to help her out. But she hadn’t made it that far, just leaning against the doorframe , contemplating her options. “Uh, yeah.” She’d already reminded him he didn’t have to call her lady, to no avail. “Dol was apparently not an acceptable kiss substitute, so. Hey?”
"Hey indeed," he returned, walking over to her and dropping down to give Dol a few friendly scritches. He grinned over at Sydney, because who can't be happy when petting a dog? "You look well. Have you changed your hair since I last saw you?" Far be it from Thor to rush into kissing someone when he could be friendly first.
Syd’s hand immediately went to her hair - it was shorter now, and she’d already had to murmur something about a haircut to other people who had noticed, but she somehow hadn’t expected Thor to? The attention to detail, and the fact that he’d just pet Dol, who was wagging his tail happily, made her flush deep red. “Um, yeah. A little. Thanks for the help, too, I appreciate it.”
It was on the tip of her tongue to offer to call someone else so he wouldn’t have to kiss her, but Sydney wasn’t that selfless.
"It looks nice, and it is my honor to help," answered Thor, giving Dol one last rub between the ears before returning to a standing position. He turned his head slightly as he stepped a little closer and added, "You'll have to forgive me. Earth aging throws me off, are you of an age where it would be more proper for a kiss upon the cheek or old enough-- rather, do you have a preference?"
“Er-” Well, now she should be glad that she had bumped up a little in age, she supposed, since all of her previous kisses had been people near-ish her own age. “We’re good, I’m over 18.” Though he was definitely well above Victor’s 21-age-rule.
Too bad for Victor that he’d specified dating and not just kissing. Ha.
Her face was still flushed as she tilted her head up a little and rose up on her tiptoes to offer a little help to offset her petite height. “Though I’m pretty sure a year or two doesn’t matter when you’re a gazillion years old, so…”
Thor laughed at the age comment, though he knew quite well how much it mattered on Earth with their strict adherence to rules regarding what age was required to do certain things. It was quaint in many ways, but he understood the logic ensuring maturity - at least physical maturity (he knew Stark). Also, since he was nearly a giant even to tall people, Thor smiled and went down on one knee to make the height difference even easier. "Then, I offer you this kiss," he stated, leaning forward to place his lips softly upon hers, keeping one hand on his bent knee and the other on the doorframe for balance.
Okay, she didn’t think she was that short, but Sydney open-mouth gaped a little when him going down on one knee put him just a little shorter than her. And then she was being kissed by someone that had continents for arms, so her complaints fell right off the cliff.
It was nice. Not unlike the other mistletoe kisses she received, but not nearly as nice as Cowb- Oh god, as they broke apart and her comparison went straight to Jesse, she flushed red again and took a step back, hand on Dol’s head. “Uh-” Syd was very close to stammering now. “Thanks. For that. I mean, again, since I said thanks before, but- Yeah.”
"A pleasure, Lady Syd. I would offer to escort you to your destination, but I suspect your constant companion could easily dispatch any threats as well as I. May your evening be well!" answered Thor, not nearly as oblivious to her flushed face and stammering as he acted. With a small wave and another scritch to Dol, he turned to make his way back towards his own home for the evening.
