CONNOR + ANTHONY GOLDSTEIN
PG | IN PROGRESS (GDOC)
Something was ... off. Sure, a number of changes had taken place while the residents of Atlantis were living alternate lives in Colorado, but this was different. Connor couldn't quite put his finger on it, but as he entered the Base, he could sense that someone had been there while they were not. His mind palace was working again (oh, how he had missed this ability), and he scanned the building reflexively as he entered. There were small scratches around the frame of the security panel by the ground level door, which suggested that someone had by-passed the system manually.
When he stepped into the elevator, Connor noticed a small piece of fiber on the floor. It was obvious when he picked it up that it was not from the standard Atlantis uniform, and he had the sneaking suspicion that it probably belonged to whomever accessed the security panel. He rode to the second floor, heading straight for the Command Security Headquarters as soon as the elevator doors opened.
There weren't many people around at the moment. A lot of them were checking out the other changes-- housing assignments and the like. Now that he no longer needed to sleep again, Connor was less concerned about his bed arrangement. There was one man sitting at a desk when he entered the suite of offices. With a quick glance to the nameplate on the desk, Connor greeted the man and got straight to the point. "Excuse me, Mr Goldstein? I believe there's been a security breach."
