DIA SAMPSON + LUCIAN LOGAN
DELILAH MOON + LUCIAN BOLE PG-13 (Modest mentions of nudity) | COMPLETE
The sun peeked through the bottom of the window, creating a thin rectangle of light across the bed. Most of the purple bed covers were bunched up near the foot of the bed or dangling onto the floor, with the inhabitants partially covered by a soft white sheet. There were two bodies curled together in the center. He was on his back, one arm tossed above his head, with the other wrapped around his companion. She was on her stomach, her head resting on his chest just beneath his chin, and one arm and leg curled around his frame.
Despite the crick in her neck, Dia was reluctant to move from her position. The warm, smooth body beneath hers might have been a bit too firm to make a good pillow, but the smell and feel of him was inviting in a way she didn't know how to explain. She snuggled against him as a melody played through her mind. She didn't realize that she had been humming it aloud until she felt his hand move from her back to run through her hair.
Slowly, grudgingly, she lifted her head and looked up at his face. A soft smile crossed her features as she said, "We have to stop meeting like this."
Lucian had been soundly sleeping until a soft humming slowly woke him from his deep slumber. Flashes of what happened that previous night came back to him and a soft playful smile curled his lips as he remembered them.
“Why?” he asked when his sweet Dia spoke. Yes, she was his even if he didn’t do commitment. It was a strange situation. He wouldn’t commit but he didn’t want anyone to have her other than him. Possessive, yes, he was aware of it. “What’s wrong with meeting like this?”
Dia sat up, letting the sheet fall to her lap as she stretched her arms above her head. "Well," she began, her voice tinged with humor as she spoke. "For one thing, you don't make the softest pillow." Leaning over him, she drummed her fingers lightly across his chest like she might do on the keys of a piano, and then touched his nose with a tiny boop from her pointer finger before she turned and slid her way out of the bed.
"And for another," she added as she walked across the room to her dresser and retrieved a pair of panties from the drawer. "I have a date tonight." She glanced over her shoulder at him as she pulled the lavender briefs up to cover her rear. "This," she said, referring to his comfortable presence in her bed, "might give people the wrong impression."
Lucian let out a small complaining groan when she moved out of his reach, missing her warmth already. “I make an awesome and soft pillow and you know it. You’re just denying it to tease me,” he said with a grin.
He watched her with hungry eyes as she moved to her dresser, his eyes trailing down her naked body. God, she was gorgeous. However, his expression changed at the word ’date’, but he tried not to show his disappointment. “Has he made it clear you two are exclusive? Because if not, I don’t see why this would give people the wrong impression.”
"Well, no..." Dia replied slowly, turning back to the dresser to retrieve a shirt from another drawer. "We haven't really talked about that yet." She was glad her face was turned away at the moment. She wasn't about to confess that He was the reason she'd been intentionally avoiding having that conversation. "But that doesn't mean he has any reason to think we aren't exclusive either."
As she pulled an oversized t-shirt over her head before turning to face him once more. "Not everyone keeps things as casual as you," she added playfully.
“If he hasn’t said anything yet, I don’t think why we can’t keep doing this, honestly,” he said as he stretched out in bed. “We make a good team together, D. And you can’t deny we have a lot of fun between these sheets,” he said with a playful smirk on his face.
“Casual is good, baby girl. Casual is fun,” he replied.
She couldn't help chuckling lightly at his response. Nor could she disagree with him. And he presented a tempting invitation for a repeat performance of that fun as he stretched across her bed. He didn't even have to say anything. Dia managed to catch herself about halfway toward the bed, and she pivoted on her toes to retrieve his pants from the nearby armchair instead.
"Casual is fun," she said in an agreeable tone as she moved over to the bed to pass him his pants. She shrugged lightly as she added, "But, I don't know... I've been thinking about maybe trying something different."
He caught his jeans as he sat up, giving her a little pout as he did. He was sad she didn’t want to play anymore... for now. “Different? Different like being exclusive to this guy?” he asked, not really liking the way it sounded and how it would affect him.
Lucian didn’t do exclusive, but that didn’t mean he wanted to sever ties with the one woman who was constant in his life, which was funny now that he thought about it. He didn’t do exclusive yet she was always around in his life and he didn’t want to quit her.
Dia reached down to fiddle with the corner of the sheet as she considered how to answer him. "This guy, or someone else. I just... I want something I can show off." She moved over to sit on the edge of the bed as she looked up at him. "You're kind of like a secret, you know?" She gave him the once over, waving a hand to gesture at his body. "A ridiculously hot, unbelievably delicious secret... But I can't exactly brag about casual at family dinners."
“Yes, you can,” he answered. “You can totally brag about banging an incredible and unbelievably hot guy at family dinners.” He did not see the wrong in that, to be honest.
He got up and put on his jeans. “So what now? You’re gonna go out with this guy, whoever he is,” he said with a wave of his hand, “And we’re over?” he asked, his tone sad and he was not trying to hide it this time.
"Oh, don't say it like that," she replied, giving a little pout of her own. "I don't want to stop being your friend. Just... maybe friends who don't have sleepovers anymore." Dia was a little surprised to find herself saying the words. Sure, she'd been telling herself to have this conversation with him for a while, but she never thought she'd actually go through with it. She didn't like telling Lucian 'no', and didn't like to think that they might never have a repeat of the previous night. But at the same time, she wanted to have a proper relationship experience for a change. It wasn't fair of Dia to ask Lucian to provide that for her, nor would it be fair to presume another person wouldn't expect exclusivity.
Of course she would pout. She looked so damn adorable it was almost impossible for him to deny her anything. He walked over to her and placed each arm on either side of her on the bed, trying to make her change her mind. “What’s wrong with having a little sleepover here and there, D?” he asked, brushing his nose against hers.
He was so close that it would have been very easy to pull him back down to cover her, mouth first. The urge was strong enough that she subconsciously licked her lips and closed her eyes. Again though, Dia managed to catch herself, and she turned her head away from him as she leaned slightly back. "I just want to try something different," she said, her voice quiet as she added, "Something more than sleepovers."
Lucian sighed and dropped his head, knowing he was losing this battle. And it was a battle he did not want to lose and which knew would hurt him more than any other. He pushed himself back on his feet and nodded. “Fine. We’ll be just friends,” he said with a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes. “If that’s what makes you happy, I’ll do it.” He would do anything for her, even if he didn’t know exactly why.
Happy. Dia wasn't so sure that was the right word for it, but since she couldn't say that she was completely happy with the current situation she decided to stand by her decision. Bending over, she picked up the pair of shorts that was lying on the floor and pulled them on as she stood up from the bed.
To lighten the mood, she said, "If it's any consolation, I'm the kind of girl who makes her friends french toast." She smiled as she offered, "You wanna stay for breakfast?"
There was something about her, the way she smiled, the way she talked, the way she moved... Lucian simply couldn’t say no to her, even when he should’ve been pissed by her sudden decision of trying ’something different’.
He smiled at her, this time the smile did reach his eyes. “Of course, D.”
