In Vino Veritas
Since Valerie left, Price Hall had been in a constant state of drunkeness when she didn't have to be at work. Between rounds, it was aspirin, water, work, then alcohol all over again. She'd been this way before. Her first love, Ethan. That had been a nasty breakup, and she'd been underage at the time, so the parentals were nowhere near understanding. But now, she was legal, and she was on her own, and she was single all over again. The difference this time was that she'd been absolutely head over heels in love with the woman who left her. And she thought Val had been as well. And then, there was Oktoberfest, which rolled around at the exact same time. So Price took it as a sign and immediately hit the party Friday... and today. She'd been drunk since it started this morning at 10. But as far as she was concerned, it was a free country and she could do whatever the fuck she wanted to. And she could look damn good doing it too. She wasn't normally a beer girl, but when one was nursing a broken heart and trying to keep her spirits up, one drank whatever was on hand. And for Price, that was the every flowing amounts of beer that was passed around this festival of awesomeness. Price wasn't stupid. She knew that this wasn't the healthiest way ever to deal with the break up, but Price was Price. She was who she was and that's all there was to it. Part of her was even entertaining the idea of bringing someone home tonight and screwing their brains out on the couch. Or the spare bedroom. Definitely not in her own bedroom, though. She hadn't even been sleeping in that bedroom lately... that had been their bedroom whenever Val stayed over. Immediately Price shoved that memory back and tried to focus her eyes. That rebound fuck was looking better and better every minute she was here. She just had to track one willing soul down who wasn't planning on trying to get attached. Yeah, no. She wanted no strings right now. None at all. Fuck that mess. |
