Stupid Newspaper
Netflix and Chill would have been a whole lot more fun if she had someone to "chill" with. As it was, though, PJ spent most of the day curled up in her suite watching whatever happened to catch her fancy. There was mostly horror movies on her recently watched list and that included the ones on Hulu, Amazon Prime and every on demand network she could manage. But there were also a few comedies and more than a few actions. Very little romcom or romance, though, as she was lamenting the fact that she was mostly without real prospects. What she'd found today put her in this state. She'd awoken to what looked like a newspaper column all about her. It wouldn't have been a problem, had she not read it over and found she was seriously lacking in her duties here. As far as she was concerned, she should be going on a whole lot more missions. She should be helping more. Maybe she should be helping people find who they were supposed to be with. On top of all that, there was a list. A list of who whoever wrote this thought she would be great paired up with. There had been a few names mentioned, a few she knew (Grant Ward, Emilia Ward – were they related? – Sharon Carter, Hilary Becker – yeah, okay, she could definitely get on board with that one), but most she didn't (who the hell were Sam Anders and Mon El?). And then there were opinions about her future here in Atlantis. It all made her miss home and miss Ethan. That last bit alone was enough to keep her here. She couldn't go home yet. There was no guarantee she wouldn't fall back into the trap her mother had for years. That was not something she was risking. Plus, she still had a job to do here. She wasn't sure whether that was in the war itself, in helping people find their other halves, or both, but she knew she had to figure out what it was and accomplish it. And yeah, okay, she'd get right on that. Tomorrow. Maybe. Maybe in a couple of days. Right now, she was feeling low and was trying to cure her issues with movies. And ice cream. And more than a little liquor. She wasn't drunk yet, but she might be getting that way shortly. So why wasn't she at a bar? She was really in no shape to be at a bar. Ugh, fuck today. What was next on her movie list? |
