An Announcement from the Headmistress
The starry sky ceiling over the Great Hall twinkled with the scene of a clear night, as the many candles floated, suspended overhead and casting light on the vast room. The four long, House tables were more sparsely populated than in years previous, chatter a bit more toward the alto and soprano end of the spectrum.
The year had been off to a good start, and the witches that had come to Hogwarts were being kept safe, while their male classmates had been sent to another location. It was a security measure, designed to keep them safe, and so far, it had seemed to work. There had not been any notable incidents, and the students at what had become the Hogwarts School for Witches seemed, on the surface, at least, to be taking things rather well, and were displaying exemplary behavior. So it seemed.
But beneath all of this, strange things were happening, feelings blossoming and becoming intense, nearing a breaking point...
The headmistress looked around the room as she rose from her seat to address the witches seated before her. "Good evening, ladies," she said, clearing her throat. "I want to thank you all for your cooperation and participation this year. You have truly taken things well. We are introducing a new project for you all, which I expect you will take to actively." She took what looked like a black, leatherbound book from the Staff table, and raised it. "Each of you will be receiving a journal, just like this, and you are expected to write in it. You will be able to use these to communicate with one another, and can even correspond privately back and forth by using select privacy and protection charms. This exercise is meant to expand your communications with one another, and help you to bond and express yourselves in these difficult times. I hope you will all take them seriously; they will be distributed this evening and throughout the coming week. Thank you all for your attention, and have a good night."
