It would have been pleasant not to have to deal with the likes of Lady Whistleblower. It is a shame when one speaks ill of other people. It does not hurt to be kind to other people and it is something we should all try and do. It makes the world a much more pleasant place to be after all.

I do look forward to my time here nonetheless.

Journal of Dr. Enys - 01

Although I am not formally acquainted with Lady Whistledown, I would be a poor excuse for a friend if I did not seek to correct public opinion as regards my predecessor, Dr. Fuchs. Though Dr. Fuchs may be said to embrace technologies from abroad, he has done so with a great eye toward improving the condition of his patients in Sanditon. It is the height of ignorance to assume that the English have a monopoly on medical achievement and I, for one, look forward to consulting his "foreign" writings to improve my own understandings.

To the best of my knowledge, as pertains to this devil, I have not treated Lady Whistledown herself. I invite her to consult me privately to determine whether or not I am, in fact, "wet behind the ears" as was so charmingly put. I assure the Lady that as a physician, I am sworn to the utmost secrecy as concerns my patients so she may trust that her identity is safe with me. To her and to others who may share her concerns of privacy, my office is open to patients who do not wish a home visit, upon request.

As for the rest of Sanditon, might I suggest that you take advantage of the bracing sea air and go for a swim? Though I have my concerns about the ridiculous bathing machines I see lined up and down the coastline, the postive effects of swimming upon one's health cannot be overstated.
