What: Eleanor takes advantage of her relative freedom

Eleanor regretted the sudden departure from Bath and the curtailment of her new friendship with Catherine Morland, but she had to admit, she was enjoying her visit to Sanditon so far. Guiltily, she knew it was because her father hadn't come along, leaving her instead to the care of the baroness and her oldest brother. Frederick's "care" so far mostly involved seeing her at the dinner table, if he hadn't made other plans, and the baroness was a much more lax chaperone than her father was.
So Eleanor found herself with free time and a far less rigid schedule than she was used to. Every purchase wasn't scrutinized, and she could choose her own pastimes. And while she had no desire to go wild or even do much her father wouldn't approve of, it was liberating to be able to pick out ribbons or buy herself a treat without the general's opinions.
Today, she'd found her way to the circulating library in town. Henry usually brought her most of the novels she read, so she was enjoying the chance to peruse and pick out her own.
