Perhaps it was the morning of irritation which made Frederick need conversation with someone more... reasonable. Or he was just warning her about she was walking back to. And it seemed all fruitless as Anne announced she would go back to see her sister directly.
But then she didn't move. Frederick frowned, and felt the awkwardness of the moment. Did Anne have something to tell him? Frederick didn't think he was prepared for a moment to talk about things outside of casual conversation.
However, her question seemed to be just a continuation of that. "Yes, I have. It's nice to be by the sea again. Have you... found it agreeable?"
